UFC Vegas 24 (Main Event): Robert Whittaker def Kelvin Gastelum via unanimous decision

The main event of UFC Vegas is headlining the fight between the former Middleweight champion and number one ranked UFC Middleweight fighter Robert Whittaker against the former Middleweight interim champion Kelvin Gastelum. A win in this fight can present the title shot for any of them.

Round 1: Whittaker started the fight with some crisp jabs, Gastelum tried to return the favor but couldn’t find the mark for his shots. Whittaker landed a nice one two combination followed by a kick kick that stunned Gastelum for a bit. He scored a takedown and controlled Gastelum on the ground and the round ended in the same way.

Round 2: Whittaker started the round with an early low kick. Gastelum comes in by swinging some heavy shots and he seemed to move well. Whittaker evaded a hard left hand and they are in the clinch again he scored a takedown once again. Gastelum is still pressing his left eye is showing signs of damage but Whittaker’s face is showing some swelling too. Round ends on the feet.

Round 3: Gastelum started the round aggressively and lands a left hand. Whittaker moved well and landed one more combination. Gastelum landed a nice right hand and Whittaker answers him with a right now. High kick lands from Whittaker and Gastelum answered with a right hand. Gastelum tried a kick to the body but Whittaker catches it and he slips as the round ends.

Round 4: Gastelum immediately shoots for a takedown but Whittaker defended it well. He tried to press him again and land some punches but Whittaker continued to evade them. Whittaker landed a crisp uppercut that scored and Gastelum still walked forward and scored his shots. Whittaker landed a high kick and blocked. He landed a huge uppercut just as the horn sounds.

Round 5: Whittaker landed an early low kick and Gastelum continued to press. Gastelum still threw his power shots and Whittaker scores one more nice takedown. Gastelum get up quickly and landed a crisp hook. Front kick landed from Whittaker and he scored one more takedown. He stays on the top and finished the fight there.

Result: Robert Whittaker def Kelvin Gastelum via unanimous decision (50-45, 50-45, 50-45)
