Spanish players Rafael Nadal and Roberto Bautista Agut are both extraordinarily talented players. The World No. 2 Nadal has won 20 grand slams and thus his compatriots are in awe of his feats.

In a recent interview with ATP, Agut, the second Spaniard in the ATP Rankings also surrenders to the statistics of Nadal. He has hailed his fellow countryman on his French Open records and ability to be phenomenal year after year.

I am fascinated by how he got there: Agut

“His figures are tremendous, but perhaps highlighting that, to reach those numbers, he must have a mental capacity to know how to face each Roland Garros principle, for example,” Agut said.

Bautista Agut is well aware of the stature that Nadal holds, especially in the clay. Representing the country, Rafa and Agut have both known each other well too. Yet the ability to perform consistently year after year has made Agut claim Rafa is from a different planet.

“I am fascinated by how he got there this year, his plan was created, he was optimizing his resources and in the end he ended up as always, raising the number 13. His ability to know how to start each year as if the previous one had not happened seems from another planet,” he concluded.
