Former Indian cricketer, Robin Uthappa, touched upon the things that happened during the captaincy tenure of India’s star batter, Virat Kohli, in a recent interview. Uthappa stated that former India all-rounder Yuvraj Singh‘s international career was cut short due to Kohli.
Uthappa felt that Yuvraj Singh did not meet the fitness standards that Kohli had set up for his Indian cricket team. Kohli himself is a very fit cricketer and has always focused on the fitness of his team’s players under his captaincy. Meanwhile, Singh was one of the greatest match winners for India in white-ball cricket, helping India win the ICC T20 World Cup in 2007 and the ODI World Cup in 2011.
Yuvi struggled with his fitness after he made his comeback to international cricket after beating cancer. Kohli did not allow an exception to the fitness rule that he had set, and Yuvi was eventually ignored, at least according to Uthappa. However, the former India all-rounder managed to make a comeback.

Robin Uthappa also revealed that Singh asked for a two-point deduction in the fitness test but was not allowed. Later, he worked on his fitness and passed the test. However, he was dropped again after a little dip in form and was not considered any more.
Singh played 304 ODI matches and scored 8701 runs. He also featured in 58 T20Is and scored 1177 runs. The former Indian all-rounder also managed to play 40 Test matches and score 1900 runs.
