With the revised format of the Champions League, a professional footballer will have to play several more games in comparison to the previous season. As the Champions League season is set to kick off, Man City star Rodri shared his thoughts on the tight game schedule.

Several other players including teammate Manuel Akanji have spoken about the same. The Spanish midfielder was quizzed about his thoughts on player fatigue to which he mirrored the reporter’s question.

He also mentioned that it is the players that ‘suffer’ and hoped for a quick resolution. Earlier, Arsenal legend Thierry Henry stated that as a manager, the news is not a happy one. However, as a football pundit, more games always means more fun according to the Frenchman.

City defender Akanji claimed that he may even retire at 30 because of the increasing number of games players are made to play.

Lautaro can definitely win the Ballon d'Or. I'd rather a Man City player win it, but he's a sensational player. If you can play with the World Cup champions and the Copa America winners, you have to be special.
