Succeeding in the Premier League isn’t an easy task. The 2023/24 season came to an exciting end on Sunday night as Manchester City were crowned champions for a fourth consecutive time. The Cityzens beat West Ham United 3-1 to beat Arsenal to the title by a two-point margin. Celebrations went on into the night as City added an eighth title to their PL collection.

City clinched the title thanks to two stunning goals from Phil Foden. The third and final goal of City’s season came from none other than Rodri himself as the Spaniard unleashed a powerful shot from outside the box. After the game, Rodri claimed that their title charge was never in doubt citing the game vs Arsenal as the reason.

To be honest, it's in the mentality. Arsenal had an unbelievable season. But when they played us, the difference was in here (mentality). These guys don't want to win, they want to draw. We wouldn't do it the same way.
Rodri said in a post-match interview

The midfielder added that after claiming that singular point against the Gunners, they went on to win their last eight games, thereby securing the title.

Player of the season Phil Foden showed just why he deserved the accolade two minutes into the match. He side stepped a defender at the edge of the box before unleashing a screamer into the top right corner.

With one hand already on the trophy, City then fell into their groove, playing the game the way they intended to. Sharing more than three quarters of possession, City netted their second of the game thanks to a Foden brace. His second of the night came from a close-range finish in the 18th minute, expertly set up by Jeremy Doku.

Arsenal supporters were given a glimmer of hope when Mohammed Kudus pulled one back for the visitors through a sublime bicycle kick. However, the dream didn’t last long, when Rodri stepped up to hand the Premier League title for a fourth consecutive time to Man City. His emphatic finish from outside the box eluded the grasp of opposition keeper Alphonse Areola and into the back of the net.
