On the social media platform, some fans liked Federer’s way of announcing Zendaya as On Running’s brand ambassador. Reacting to the picture, a fan said it was Federer’s version of Challengers.
Notably, Challengers’ screenwriter Justin Kuritzkes, based Tashi on the 20-time Grand Slam champion’s wife, Mirka Federer. Kuritzkes used to observe how Mirka used to look very anxious when her husband played at the Wimbledon Championships.
She looked so stressed out, at every point. I was watching her and just thinking, 'Why are you so stressed out? You guys have all the money in the world. You've won 20 grand slams. What's so stressful for you? It has to be something else.'Justin Kuritzkes told GQ
Notably, Federer is a co-entrepreneur for On and invested a lot in it, the value of which has not been revealed. He even spent 20 days in the lab during the pandemic to create the brand’s pro tennis shoes.
Zendaya says she has been a fan of On Running for a long time
The partnership with Zendaya was announced with a campaign called Dream Together, directed by C Prinz. It aims to spread the message of how sports help to bring people of different backgrounds together. Zendaya, during an interview, said she has been using On for a long time for various activities.

It’s no secret that I’ve been a big fan of On for a long time. I’m always wearing them on set, or when I’m traveling, rehearsing, or running around with my dog. So it’s a full-circle moment to make this partnership official.Zendaya said (via Women’s Wear Daily)
Last year, World No.1 tennis star Iga Swiatek, who is just one step away from a Roland Garros hat-trick, signed the deal with On and started wearing its customized shoes. This made Swiatek the first female tennis player to join the brand as its ambassador.
As mentioned, Swiatek is in Paris for the Grand Slam event and will face the winner of the semifinal match between Jasmine Paolini and Mirra Andreeva in the final on June 8.
