The time when Roger Federer followed his dad’s advice
Roger Federer admits that in the beginning of his career money was important to him, not too much just enough to sustain. He recalls that his father had told him that it’s important as a professional tennis player he made it to the top 100. Once that was achieved, Federer never gave importance to money. Federer says that he has always given importance to the game, looked to enjoy the sports. Maybe that is why Roger Federer is the most successful tennis player in the world.
When asked about money, Federer says “In the beginning it was a little bit. My dad said, ‘If you become a tennis professional just make sure you get into the top 100, because you have to make a little bit of money’. Now it’s important to enjoy the tour as much as I can.”
