Roger Federer is tired of playing golf. He misses tennis so much that he has teased a comeback after hanging up his racket. Post-retirement, his business ventures kept him busy.

He has been spending a great deal of time with his family and also traveled to different places, including in Lesotho and Thailand. Federer has now made up his mind to make his comeback to tennis, that is, he wants to play exhibition matches.

Honestly, I’d love to play some more tennis again. Enough with the golf already for a moment now, I’ve played so much. But no seriously, I’d love to start playing like two-three times a week again and hopefully, get myself back on an exhibition court. Maybe fill up a few nice stadiums around the world.

Roger Federer told TNT Sports

Federer, the first player in ATP tennis to reach the 20-Grand Slam mark, called time on his illustrious career at the Laver Cup back in 2022 in front of several legends of the sports, including his two biggest rivals, Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal, with the former being the only member of the Big 3 yet to call time on his career. In the last match of his career, the Swiss maestro paired up with Nadal and was defeated by Jack Sock and Frances Tiafoe.

I’ve no plans yet but I know that the training part, I miss it a little bit to be honest because I haven’t played a whole lot since I retired. Just because I think my body needed a little break and maybe my mind also a little bit, I’ve played with my kids, you know but I’d really love to practice a little bit for myself as well. So I’ll do that as I keep on traveling and hopefully you’ll get to see me in an exhibition soon.

Wozniacki was last seen in action at the US Open in 2024. Beatriz Haddad Maia came from a set down to beat her in the fourth round of the tournament.

Ahead of the Australian Open this year, the Dane pulled out of the tournament. She didn’t play in any of the tournaments this season. A week ago, she took to her social media to announce that she would be becoming a mother for the third time.

The 34-year-old announced her retirement in 2020, during which she welcomed daughter Olivia, who is now three years old, and her son James, who is two years old. She returned to the tour in 2023 and in an interview, she said she wanted to be a role model for her children and show them that anyone can achieve their goals irrespective of age or role.

After making her comeback, she progressed to the fourth round of the US Open. In the 2024 season, Wozniacki advanced to the quarterfinals of Indian Wells and made it to the third round of Wimbledon. She also returned to the top 100 and currently, she sits in the 133rd position.

Wozniacki has won one Grand Slam title in her career. She beat Simona Halep to take home the 2018 Australian Open. Apart from the Australian Open, she is also a two-time finalist at the US Open (2009 and 2014), losing the matches to Kim Clijsters and Serena Williams, respectively.
