Severin Luthi, a Swiss coaching legend, was Roger Federer‘s coach for fifteen years. He recently opened up about Carlos Alcaraz after his record-shattering French Open victory.
Carlos Alcaraz has always said that he admired Roger Federer, going as far as to say the Swiss was his favorite during his junior years. Luthi mentioned that although he doesn’t know Alcaraz much and Federer never got to play against him in a professional match, the two practiced at Wimbledon when Alcaraz was a budding junior.

I don't know him very well, but we trained with him once with Roger (Federer) at Wimbledon when he was still a junior, and I remember that Ferrero told us that he was monstrous. And then you say to yourself, 'yeah, it's okay.'Severin Luthi said on the Tennis Legend Podcast
He then admitted that he was conservative with his predictions about the prodigy as some of his older predictions were proven wrong and in a big way.
I am very careful with the predictions because I am the guy who thought that after Pete Sampras, it would be impossible to win 14 Grand Slams, and now we have three players who have won 20 or more. You also have to have a little luck, success and it also depends on the other players.Severin Luthi added
He heaped praise on the Spaniard and revealed what he first thought of him when he witnessed the practice session with Federer. He also expects great things from the youngster in the future.
Carlos Alcaraz celebrated his French Open victory by partying at home in Spain
Carlos Alcaraz won his third Grand Slam title last week, after which he said he would be taking a well- earned vacation. During this short, three-day celebration, the Spaniard visited the island of Ibiza in the Mediterranean Sea.

During his stay there, Alcaraz visited a DJ night party at a club called ‘Swag’. His party-animal side was witnessed there as he was seen singing and dancing alongside DJ Ernesto.
He will be returning to tennis action later this month in Queens where he looks to defend his first grass court title. Later in July, Alcaraz will also be partnering Rafael Nadal at the Paris Olympics.
