Ljubicic also thinks that Djokovic plays more aggressively if he deals with such jeers from the fans.

The crowd once again provoked Novak Djokovic and he gave it back to them. One can always hear the crowd’s boos when Djokovic is on the court as he has developed a somewhat ‘sour’ relationship with the crowd. But Roger Federer‘s former coach Ivan Ljubicic doesn’t understand why the crowd celebrates Nole’s points by annoying him with boos.

Djokovic was angry when the crowd was chanting ‘Rune’ during his Wimbledon fourth-round match against Holger Rune on Centre Court. The Serb thought that by chanting ‘Ruuuuune between points, the crowd was actually taunting him. Ljubicic thinks that Djokovic plays more aggressively if he deals with such jeers from the fans.

I’ve heard Rune fans celebrate like this before. If they did it to annoy Nole, it’s something they’ve already done. So I don’t know. I’ve seen a lot of people try to distract Nole in many different ways. This is an original way because I don’t see any logic in celebrating with a boo when a player scores a point. But he interpreted it like this, using this thing to have more concentration.
Ivan Ljubicic told Sky Sports Italia

Ljubicic also feels that Djokovic, who withdrew from the Roland Garros quarterfinals due to his knee injury, underwent surgery for the same, and was doubtful about his Wimbledon participation, is playing “perfect” tennis.

Novak Djokovic walks out of interview with BBC

Novak Djokovic outclassed the 15th seed Holger Rune in straight sets 6-3, 6-4, 6-2, after which he condemned the Wimbledon crowd during his on-court interview for ‘disrespecting’ him. He also took to X to mock them with his “Goooooooooooood night” tweet. And when he was constantly questioned about the crowd’s behavior- and not about his match- by a BBC journalist, an annoyed Djokovic walked out of the interview

Do you have any other questions other than about the crowd? Are you focused only on that? This is the 3rd question.
Novak Djokovic said

Djokovic received a walkover from his quarterfinal opponent Alex de Minaur after the latter injured himself during his fourth-round clash with Frenchman Arthur Fils. The 24-time Grand Slam champion is set to lock horns with Italy’s 25th seed Lorenzo Musetti who overcame America’s Taylor Fritz in five sets.

The World No. 2 will be playing Musetti for the third time this year and the second time at a major event, having met in the Monte-Carlos Masters and the Roland Garros. Djokovic won both the matches.
