Roger Federer has once again dived into the rumors surrounding a potential exhibition tour with Rafael Nadal. This duo has arguably two of the biggest fanbases on the planet, and that fandom has not gone even after their retirement.
Federer still has the ability to attract audiences worldwide, as seen at the Laver Cup recently. However, Nadal is mostly spotted on the golf course. Federer said on Swiss daily newspaper Tages-Anzeiger:
It would be great if that could be done. If we played exhibitions after our careers, we would have more time and wouldn’t have to rush to the next competition. I could imagine combining all of that with a good cause, raising funds for my foundation and inspiring young people there.
Federer and Nadal broke the record for the highest attendance in tennis history during an exhibition in South Africa in 2020. Outside of that, they have done many other exhibitions, such as the two they did in 2010 in Zurich and Madrid, respectively.
Nadal has shown some signs of reigniting his relationship with tennis after he was spotted on the tennis courts of his academy. The Spaniard was seen practicing with Alexandra Eala.
Roger Federer opens up on television commentary
Swiss tennis legend Roger Federer has opened up on the possibility of doing tennis commentary in the future. However, the 20-time Grand Slam champion has quickly denied those rumors. He said:
Not at the moment, I’m focusing on my kids; it’s time to be interested in what’s important before they leave home. If any media outlet asks me right now, I would say no because I don’t have the time, although never say never. Even Stefan Edberg never envisaged spending two years on the circuit with me, so I am willing to be a mentor to someone with questions; I’ll be happy to share my advice.

Federer has been sharing advice with the up-and-coming tennis players since his retirement. The biggest example is at the Laver Cup, where he is seen testing out his new Wilson rackets while hitting with some junior players.
However, commentary is a totally different ball game. There were rumors that Federer might return to Wimbledon in 2023 as a tennis comentator, but those rumors were extinguished quickly.
Federer did, however, return to Wimbledon in 2023. However, that was because he was officially presented as a Royal Box member at the All-England Club.
Novak Djokovic breaks another Roger Federer record
Novak Djokovic has secured his 16th career Top 4 finish. This puts him ahead of Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal, who each have 15. He also becomes the oldest player to end a season inside the ATP’s top four. His consistency continues to set new standards.

Djokovic’s durability draws comparisons to Jimmy Connors. Connors stayed competitive deep into his 30s and built a legendary record of titles and match wins. Djokovic is showing similar longevity. His level remains high despite younger players rising on tour.
At 38 years and 5 months, Djokovic is now older than Federer was when the Swiss set the previous age record. Another Top 4 finish in 2026 would place him alongside Federer for the most Top 4 seasons by a player over 30. Djokovic already holds the record for most weeks as world No. 1 with 428.
The 2025 season added more milestones to his career. He reached the semi-finals at all four Grand Slams. He also claimed his 100th and 101st titles in Geneva and Athens. His victory at the Hellenic Championship made him the oldest ATP champion.
