Roger Federer has been enjoying his retirement life mostly on vacations and attending glamorous events. With no more circuit drilling, the Swiss legend has teamed up with fashion label JW ANDERSON.
This is not the first time JW ANDERSON will be partnering with Federer. Last year, the 42-year-old partnered with the brand for a Uniqlo capsule, modeling its lifestyle clothing. Federer became Uniqlo’s brand ambassador in 2018 after breaking off his long-standing deal with Nike. The deal with Uniqlo was reported to be around £22 million a year for the next decade.
However, the recent partnership between JW ANDERSON and Federer doesn’t involve Uniqlo. The collaboration “is to celebrate the history of aesthetics of tennis, with a collection built on versatility, technicity and style.” The vintage wear is coming at a peculiar time in tennis when the likes of Rafael Nadal and Andy Murray are already at the tail end of their career.
Federer remains one of the most celebrated tennis players, if not an athlete around the world. The Swiss icon became the first men’s player to hit 20 single Grand Slam titles. Known for his cool style of play and efficient forehand/backhand shots, he went on to spend a record 237 consecutive weeks as No. 1. Also, he finished as year-end No.1 five times, also winning the Nitto ATP Finals six times.
According to JW ANDERSON the vintage tennis wear design and silhouettes from the 1970s and 1980s, have created a simple yet sophisticated uniform for players and non-players alike, with Federer leading the stage. The collection of the wear will be released on May 16 and on the following day will be available in Asia.
Roger Federer enjoys vacationing with family in Vietnam
Recently, Roger Federer took his family on vacation to Asia. The 42-year-old with his wife Mirka Federer and four children, Charlene Riva Federer, Leo Federer, Lenny Federer, and Myla Rose Federer visited Vietnam just after spending time in Hong Kong.
The former World No.1 has no more dealings with tennis and has always revealed that he doesn’t miss it. But, in a bid to spend time with his family, vacationing has become a new hobby for the iconic Swiss.
According to VN Express International, the 20-time Grand Slam visited Hoi An City and had a private vacation with his family at a resort in Dien Ban Town. He was met by fans as he took time to get a picture with them.
