Rohit Sharma has been facing a lot of criticism recently for his performance with the bat in Test cricket. He failed with the bat in the home series against New Zealand and also suffered a lean patch in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy in Australia. He sat out of the final test at the Sydney Cricket Ground, and everyone felt that his time was now up in the longest format of the game.
However, Sharma clarified that he is not retiring from Test cricket and aims to work harder to get back to form. The BCCI have meanwhile asked all the Indian cricketers to be part of domestic cricket after their poor outing in Australia.
On January 14, Sharma reached the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai to have his training with the Mumbai team for the second phase of the Ranji Trophy 2024-25.
A video has gone viral on social media, which displayed Sharma parking his car and arriving at the Wankhede Stadium with his kitbag. Many sources had earlier reported that the Indian captain would be part of the training sessions with the Mumbai team for the Ranji Trophy.

Sharma has not been part of domestic cricket, especially the Ranji Trophy, since 2015. At that moment, he was also not a consistent or regular figure in the Indian Test team. The veteran player will look to work hard, overcome the challenges, and make a strong comeback by scoring runs in the Ranji Trophy.
Rohit Sharma will captain the team in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025
India will feature in the ICC Champions Trophy in Dubai and are yet to announce their squad. However, in all likelihood, Sharma will be leading the Indian Cricket Team. He led India to the final of the ODI World Cup 2023 without losing any game, but suffered a defeat in the final against Australia.
However, he turned this setback into victory in the ICC T20 World Cup in 2024, as India went on to win the trophy without losing any game. The Indian captain will be looking to bring similar results for his country in the upcoming ICC tournament in Dubai.
Reports have meanwhile revealed that it will be the last ICC tournament for Sharma, as the selectors and BCCI are looking to move away from him after the Champions Trophy. It remains to be seen what happens finally with the current Indian captain and if he can turn around the clock in the Champions Trophy.
