After spearheading the Indian charge in the recently-concluded T20 World Cup with the bat, Rohit Sharma opted for a well-deserved vacation and he was spotted flaunting some class in one of the most classiest events of all time, Wimbledon, on a sunny Friday afternoon.

This is not the first sighting of a cricket legend in this year’s Wimbledon Royal Box as the tournament had already seen the footfall of Sachin Tendulkar, Joe Root, Ben Stokes, Jos Buttler, Ravi Shastri and Pat Cummins. To add to its sheen even Pep Guardiola was spotted in a clash of Alexander Zverev.

Sharma was a part of the audience for the first men’s singles clash that saw Carlos Alcaraz and Daniil Medvedev go head on against each other. He was captured from different angles alongside got a singular mention on the official Instagram handle of Wimbledon.

Sharma was spotted wearing a finely knitted suit of a dark grey livery while sporting the black shades in style. The fans simply couldn’t get enough of the Hitman as he lit up the Royal Box during one of the most important clashes of the tournament.

Sharma finished as the leading run scorer for Team India in the 2024 T20 World Cup. He amassed 257 runs at a strike rate of 156.70 while averaging a staggering 45.81. He finished as the second highest run-scorer of the tournament, 24 adrift of Rahmanullah Gurbaz who finished as the leading run-scorer. He was also in contention of winning the ICC Player of the Month award for June 2024 but was eventually beaten by his teammate, Jasprit Bumrah, on account of his stellar bowling in the biennial extravaganza.

A peak at how the first semi-final between Carlos Alcaraz and Daniil Medvedev panned out

The two men’s single semi-finals were slated to be played on Friday. The first clash saw Daniil Medvedev duking it out last year’s finalist, Carlos Alcaraz. In what turned out to be a fairytale comeback, Alcaraz smashed his way to a second consecutive Wimbledon finale after falling behind in the opening set.

The first set saw Medvedev securing the lead by 7-6 but Alcaraz was relentless and started hammering away perfection, clinching the second set 3-6, the third set 4-6 and the fourth set 4-6 to storm his way into the finals where he would be playing the winner of the other semi-final where Lorenzo Musetti is currently locked in a battle against Novak Djokovic.
