The ODI and Test captain of Team India, Rohit Sharma, is again in the spotlight. The Sri Lanka vs India ODI series is approaching and Sharma is back to lead India in the series. BCCI posted an image of the Hitman practicing in the nets.
Moreover, Sharma himself posted a picture of him from the nets. However, the fans were quick to find out that the Hitman had photoshopped his image in his personal account to look more fitter and without the belly fat.
Sharma has been trolled earlier multiple times due to his physical fitness and the ‘excessive’ belly fat that he carries. He is often compared to Kohli, who keeps his body in shape and looks fit and muscular.
Rohit Sharma is back to lead the Indian team against Sri Lanka in the ODI series
Sharma was not present in the 3-0 T20I series win against Sri Lanka as he has already announced his retirement from the shortest format of the game. The Hitman led Team India to a memorable win in the ICC T20 World Cup 2024. They became the first team to win the coveted cup without losing any game. India ended their draught of 11 years without an ICC trophy and won the T20 World Cup after 17 long years.
The new head coach, Gautam Gambhir, has already taken charge of the team. However, this will be the first instance where Sharma and Gambhir will work together. Gambhir has always been a fan of the player and captain Sharma is. He has always praised Sharma for his ‘selfless’ attitude and valuing the team over ‘personal’ milestones.
Fans will be waiting to see how this combination works after the Rohit-Dravid era. India have the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 in sight along with some of the most important Test series in this calendar year. Sharma-Gambhir partnership will like to weave their magic in the upcoming examinations ahead of them.
