Roki Sasaki and Dodgers’ connection gets questioned as rumors of his predetermined team take social media spotlight.

Japanese ace Roki Sasaki possibly going to the Los Angeles Dodgers has fired up the whole MLB fanbase. While LA fans are happy to have another ace addition to the lineup, many are dissatisfied thinking of this possibility.
This whole 2024 free agency spotlight has constantly been on Juan Soto, but Sasaki’s name took second place in the race. Every MLB team will try to put offers for the rookie pitcher as soon as Chiba Lotte Marines posts him in the international market.
However, since Roki Sasaki will be joining Major League Baseball before 25 years, he’ll be restricted to league rules and restrictions. He won’t be able to sign any big contracts as per his market value.
This case is closely similar to Los Angeles Dodgers two-way superstar Shohei Ohtani. He signed a $8.5 million 2-year contract with the LA Angeles during his debut in MLB and later penned a 10-year $700 million deal with the Dodgers. The Dodgers another star pitcher Yoshinobu Yamamoto, on the other hand, landed in the major league at 25 years with a 12-year $325 million deal.
Industry belief is that Roki Sasaki has already chosen where he wants to sign, with the 'most likely' choice being the Dodgers, per @Buster_ESPN pic.twitter.com/jcm0cSqk0T

It’ll be interesting to see which team Sasaki ends up with, but the majority vote from most MLB insiders goes to the Dodgers. Since they have a strong background with Japanese players, they are the current frontrunners.
Social media reacts to Roki Sasaki-LA Dodgers rumor
Apart from the Los Angeles Dodgers, the San Diego Padres are the second in line for Roki Sasaki’s services. They are another strong contender due to their relations with Yu Darvish. Other than these teams – the Texas Rangers and Chicago Cubs are also in contention.
Social media fans are not happy with Roki Sasaki being linked to the Dodgers even before his signing period began. One X user commented, “Unreal rotation,” while another added, “They don’t even have a rotation spot for you.” Check more fan reactions below:

The Dodgers have already made a huge splash in the free market by adding Blake Snell to their rotation. The current team lineup of pitchers consists of – Snell, Yamamoto, Tyler Glasnow, Clayton Kershaw, and Shohei Ohtani.
They’ll be a fierce team to face for any Fall Classic contenders, however, adding Sasaki to the mix will boost them further. No official notice of his team choice has been mentioned directly as speculations and controversies take on the topic before free agency.
