One of the most notorious and tragic incidents in former NFL star O.J. Simpson‘s life was the murder trial of 1994, where he faced criminal charges and massive media scrutiny for stabbing his wife Nicole Brown Simson, and her friend Ron Goldman, to death. Although he was acquitted, the infamous tag didn’t leave his side even after his death.

Simpson’s death has been both a shock as well as relief for many people, who believed he got away with two murders. After hearing the news of his demise, Gloria Allred, who represented Nicole Brown at the murder trial, told TMZ that she doesn’t feel sympathetic towards the former Buffalo Bills running back.

The truth about OJ Simpson can never be erased and should never be forgotten. OJ Simpson is dead. May his victims finally rest in peace.

The Goldman family also released a strong statement on social media, reacting to the death of Simpson. Ron’s father, Fred Goldman, and his daughter Kim shared experiencing mixed complicated emotions.

During a conversation with NBC News, Fred also said that hearing about the death of Simpson only deepened his grief for the loss of his son, Ron– found fatally stabbed outside the Simpson residence, in 1994.

The Aftermath of O.J. Simpson’s Trial

Although Simpson was acquitted of the criminal charges, the Goldman and Brown families won the civil suit and claimed the damages for both losses of around $33.5 million. In 2007, the former NFL player wrote a book about the hypothetical outing of how he would have committed both murders, titled, ‘If I did it.’

However, the book was later believed to be an unofficial confession by the actor which the Goldman family also mentioned in their statement. With intense controversy surrounding the book, the publisher canceled the release.

But the rights of that book were later awarded to the Goldmans by the judge, as the damages he owed him in the civil suit. They went on to publish it with a revised title, ‘ If I Did It: Confessions of the Killer.’
