On Friday, Team Netherlands and Team Venezuela faced off in the World Baseball Classic. Following the latter’s win, Ronald Acuna Jr. hit back at his Atlanta Braves teammate, Ozzie Albies and trolled him on social media.
The two Braves stars had been talking trash to each other a few days ago. During the Spring Training camp in Atlanta, North Port, FL, Olbies would make a bet with Acuna Jr. regarding their WBC matchup.
In a video, Albies would claim that Acuna Jr. would wear his jersey if the Netherlands defeated them. The outfielder would laugh at this and express that this would not happen.
When we beat Venezuela in the World Baseball Classic, he’s going to wear my jersey when he plays against the other teams.
Ozzie Albies said regarding Ronald Acuna Jr.
After the 2023 National League MVP laughed off at this, Albies, the Braves’ second baseman, would pat the back of his teammate and claim that he would even sign the jersey for him.
It’s okay papa, I’ll sign it for you.

In the game, Olbies almost tagged out Acuna Jr. at second base. After having some fun in front of him, Acuna Jr. would barely make it back to the base and avoid getting tagged out by his beloved teammate. Had he been out, he might have never heard the end of it from Olbies’ side.

Ronald Acuna Jr. took exception for two pitches in game against Netherlands
While Ronald Acuna Jr. had some fun with Ozzie Albies, he was not too friendly with the others. In the game, he would take exception for two high pitches and stared down at the opposition pitcher.

The moment took place in the bottom of the 6th inning when Venezuela were leading 6-2. Acuna Jr., who was 1-for-2 at that point, would go up against Wendell Floranus.
The pitcher would throw two high balls to him. The Atlanta Braves star did not like this and would glare down at him from the box.
Chadwick Tromp, Acuna Jr.’s Braves teammate and the Netherlands’ catcher would step in and diffuse the situation before it escalated further. The 5-time MLB All-Star would end up striking out.
