With the world still locked down due to the pandemic, Ronaldo has already revealed his plans very clearly. He displayed his stunning performance stating nothing will be able to stop him. In Portugal’s latest Nations League clash against Sweden, Cristiano Ronaldo completed a century of international goals for Portugal.

He scored 2 goals in the whole match to take his overall tally to 101 goals for his nation. The star player reached the 3-figure mark with a trademark Ronaldo free-kick goal. Ronaldo had scored his first goal for Portugal at the age of 19 in a losing affair against Greece. This took place in the 2004 UEFA Euro Cup. The 35-year old Portuguese player became the first-ever European to achieve the landmark.

Ronaldo is back in form

Becoming the highest scoring active player in the world, Ronaldo aims to break the record of Iran’s Ali Daei of 109 international goals. This also became the 57th direct free-kick goal for the star player. Ronaldo couldn’t feature in Portugal’s previous game against Croatia due to a toe infection. However, Ronaldo also achieved the milestone of scoring for Portugal in 17 consecutive calendar years.

With Ronaldo hitting the 3-figure mark, social media immediately sparked a comparison with Lionel Messi. However this did not bother Ronaldo or any of the Portugal people.
