Ronda Rousey has become a highly controversial name in the world of professional wrestling since she departed from WWE. Regardless of what one may think about the former MMA star, she has heavily uplifted the state of women’s combat sports across the world. Despite her being sour about the Stamford-based promotion, she believes that they are taking a step in the right direction for their female athletes under the direction of Triple H.

In an interview with TV Insider, the 37-year-old was talking about the current state of women’s combat sports. She believed that one of the biggest challenges she faced during her time in WWE was equal representation of TV time for women. However, the company made a lot of progress, making it easy for the women of today to pick up where people like Rousey left off.

After her WrestleMania 35 main event, Rousey thought the company had taken a few steps backward in this regard. The Baddest Woman on the Planet has made her thoughts known about what she thinks of Vince McMahon. However, with Vinnie Mac gone from the company and Triple H in charge, she believed that the company was finally moving in the right direction once again.

The 2022 Royal Rumble winner felt encouraged by what was going on in the industry. However, her return to the company is highly dubious. The former MMA star was last seen in a WWE ring at SummerSlam 2023, where she faced off against her long-time friend, Shayna Baszler, in an MMA rules match. Since then, she has burned her bridges with the company.

This has caused a ripple effect on boxing, UFC, professional wrestling, and even Olympic-style wrestling. Such combat sports have exploded all over the world. Earlier, fighting like a girl was an insult. This simply was not the case anymore.

Rousey said that she had been focusing on being a mother. Due to this, she hadn’t been able to watch wrestling as much as she used to. However, she recently saw a post by Natalya that showcased a card featuring 50% women’s matches. She claimed that getting equal representation was the real last hurdle for them to cross.
