Ronda Rousey retired from UFC after suffering consecutive losses to Holly Holm and Amanda Nunes, ending her dominant reign. Ronda Rousey highlighted how legends like Chuck Liddell and Rampage Jackson were once adored by fans but later mocked harshly. She further mentioned how MMA greats such as Anderson Silva and Georges St-Pierre faced criticism from fans despite their legendary achievements. Rousey compared this to WWE, explaining that wrestling entertainment fans tend to be far more loyal and forgiving overall. 

Rousey also suffered a similar situation, and unlike other fighters, she decided to leave the community altogether. Her success in WWE was incredible, but she has also criticized the company for its backstage environment. Ronda Rousey went NSFW on Khabib Nurmagomedov, claiming his massive fan following exists mainly because of his undefeated record.

She argued that if Nurmagomedov had continued fighting longer, he would have eventually suffered a loss like every other great fighter. Rousey believes the undefeated mentality makes fighters retire early, preventing them from passing their earned spotlight to others.

MMA veteran calls out Ronda Rousey for her comments on UFC 

Following her Olympic career, Ronda Rousey became a dominant force in the UFC, gaining fame for her signature armbar submission. She defended her bantamweight title multiple times, becoming one of the most marketable and profitable fighters in UFC history. UFC CEO Dana White always praised Rousey, expressing how much he enjoyed working with her during her championship reign.

According to White, Rousey’s long reign at the top eventually made her a prime target for other elite competitors, leading to her downfall. However, the fighter didn’t like the questions and criticism that came after the consecutive losses. MMA veteran Matt Brown once discussed Rousey’s claims towards MMA fans and shared his opinion.

Like, is she complaining? What’s the problem? Maybe people have said bad things about you. Welcome to being a human. Welcome to being famous. What did you expect? It’s not like she was out saving babies and (expletive). She wasn’t out there putting her best foot forward all the time. Most of the MMA world wants to love her. She has all of the right qualities, but she pushes us away. She pushes that away from her.
