Ronda Rousey retired from UFC after suffering consecutive losses to Holly Holm and Amanda Nunes, ending her dominant reign. Following her departure, she transitioned to WWE, where she successfully reinvented herself and maintained her superstar status in sports entertainment. Despite her fame, Rousey deliberately stayed away from UFC for years due to her unpleasant fallout with fans and media.
Rousey was the inaugural UFC women’s bantamweight champion, playing a monumental role in paving the path for female MMA’s global rise. Unlike other UFC legends, Rousey rarely makes appearances at major events and has persistently dismissed rumors of a potential comeback. During a recent podcast interview, Rousey strongly criticized the MMA fanbase, labeling them as ungrateful and overly volatile.
MMA fans and media are the most what have you done lately for us crowd of any sport. You look at WWE and they have such a reverence for their legends. In MMA, it’s like the second that you’re not on top, you’re not shit and you never were shit.

Ronda Rousey highlighted how legends like Chuck Liddell and Rampage Jackson were once adored by fans but later mocked harshly. She further mentioned how MMA greats such as Anderson Silva and Georges St-Pierre faced criticism from fans despite their legendary achievements. Rousey compared this to WWE, explaining that wrestling entertainment fans tend to be far more loyal and forgiving overall.

“In MMA, the second that you’re not on top, you’re not sh*t and you never were sh*t.
The only reason why MMA fans have their lips so firmly planted at the base of Khabib’s cock is because he retired before he reached his limit.” 😬

Rousey also suffered a similar situation, and unlike other fighters, she decided to leave the community altogether. Her success in WWE was incredible, but she has also criticized the company for its backstage environment. Ronda Rousey went NSFW on Khabib Nurmagomedov, claiming his massive fan following exists mainly because of his undefeated record.
She argued that if Nurmagomedov had continued fighting longer, he would have eventually suffered a loss like every other great fighter. Rousey believes the undefeated mentality makes fighters retire early, preventing them from passing their earned spotlight to others.
MMA veteran calls out Ronda Rousey for her comments on UFC
Following her Olympic career, Ronda Rousey became a dominant force in the UFC, gaining fame for her signature armbar submission. She defended her bantamweight title multiple times, becoming one of the most marketable and profitable fighters in UFC history. UFC CEO Dana White always praised Rousey, expressing how much he enjoyed working with her during her championship reign.

According to White, Rousey’s long reign at the top eventually made her a prime target for other elite competitors, leading to her downfall. However, the fighter didn’t like the questions and criticism that came after the consecutive losses. MMA veteran Matt Brown once discussed Rousey’s claims towards MMA fans and shared his opinion.
Like, is she complaining? What’s the problem? Maybe people have said bad things about you. Welcome to being a human. Welcome to being famous. What did you expect? It’s not like she was out saving babies and (expletive). She wasn’t out there putting her best foot forward all the time. Most of the MMA world wants to love her. She has all of the right qualities, but she pushes us away. She pushes that away from her.

"I don’t doubt for a second that she could reconcile everything. Like she could walk in and show a little bit of humility."

Brown suggested that Ronda Rousey should show more humility and consider hiring a PR professional to manage her online image. Following her recent controversial statements, Rousey has drawn backlash from numerous MMA fans and experts across the community.
When questioned about participating in the upcoming White House event, Rousey dismissed the opportunity and even mocked the concept. Her comments have only intensified criticism, with many believing she continues to alienate fans instead of rebuilding her public reputation.
