In 2019, Ronda Rousey was at the pinnacle of sports entertainment. However, one night changed everything for her career and how fans perceived her. It was WrestleMania 35, where she faced Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair in the main event, but the infamous finish of the match drew a lot of criticism against the Baddest Women on the Planet.

Speaking on Insight with Chris Van Vliet, the Rowdy One addressed this botched finish. She said that it was due to the last-minute changes made by WWE management. The former women’s champion added that the match was never properly planned and crafted. She divulged that the plan was to have a series of matches, and WrestleMania 35 would be a set-up for the singles feud between Becky Lynch and herself.

I wanted to use that (pin) as, ‘Okay, this is how we lead into the next one, we bring it up on the tron and say you never got me, this is bulls***, the referees are all in your pocket’, and put that into the singles between me and Becky that everybody wanted that got taken away.

Moreover, the Baddest Women on the Planet also claimed that the place was earsplitting, making it difficult for her to remember her cues. Although she tried her best to pin her shoulders to the mat flat, it just didn’t look like it said the former UFC star. Ronda Rousey heavily criticized WWE management. Especially, Vince McMahon for not keeping the main event a singles match between her and Big Time Becks despite fans being invested in it.

In this interview, she lambasted WWE and the former chairman of the company. She went off with her remarks similar to those in the past few months. Despite the fact that she recently talked about a potential return. The Rowdy One has praised Triple H‘s regime a number of times in her interview. However, it seems she was never comfortable in the leadership of Vince McMahon. It paved the way for her controversial exit from the company in 2023.

Ronda Rousey addressed the lackluster match with Shayna Baszler at SummerSlam 2023

At SummerSlam last year, Ronda Rousey faced her longtime best friend, Shayna Baszler. It was supposed to be the culmination of their anticipated feud. The greater fact was that it was almost confirmed earlier that this match was supposed to be the last match of the Rowdy One. However, the match never made any impact on the fans and became one of the worst contests of 2023. Recently, Rousey addressed this match and what made it so frustrating.

Speaking on the Insight with Chris Van Vliet, the former women’s champion claimed that the match being MMA Rules was a bad decision. She said the crowd didn’t have any idea about what they were doing in the ring and gave no reactions at all, which was frustrating. The UFC Hall of Famer added that it had some major callbacks from MMA that meant a lot to both the stars. However, it was in front of the wrong audience.

I think the crowd, it wasn't for them at all. It was all MMA easter eggs and all of these moments in MMA history that we’re big geeks for that, we were recreating and throwing homage to in the match and it was not inviting any audience participation or anything like that.

Furthermore, the 37-year-old star claimed that it was at the wrong place in front of the wrong audience. WWE Universe lambasted this feud all over and didn’t have any interest in this battle. It being MMA Rules made it a boring contest for casual fans, which led to it being unsuccessful. It was meant to give Baszler a kickstart to the major push. However, it failed in even that as well. Therefore, it was a total failure.
