Rookie Cameron Brink bullies former WNBA MVP and back-to-back champion A'ja Wilson in only her 2nd game tonight

A’ja Wilson is a 2-time WNBA MVP and a back-to-back champion. She is also considered to be the best player in the WNBA. Naturally, she gets the better of most of the players that go against her. Except today, when rookie Cameron Brink bullied the Finals MVP tonight.

Cameron Brink is one of the best-shot blockers to come out of college in recent years. However, coming into the WNBA, she might have a size and strength deficit to the more seasoned and older veterans. Wilson is one of the players who might not look strong but is incredibly difficult to contain. She uses her strength and deft skills around the basket to get buckets. But on one play, all that did not matter as Brink first forced Wilson onto the floor with the ball still in her hands.

The incident was judged a jump ball. However, video footage shows that the 2-time Champion was shaken up and even her teammates had a concerned look. It seems A’ja Wilson did not expect this level of physicality and blocking skill from the lean Brink.

Despite playing only 25 minutes due to foul trouble, Cameron Brink ended the game with 5 blocks. A major achievement considering this is only her 2nd ever WNBA game. She is one of the golden generation of women’s college basketball stars making her impact on the game.

Cameron Brink, Caitlin Clark, and Angel Reese leading the golden generation into the WNBA

Cameron Brink, Caitlin Clark, and Angel Reese blew the gates open in the WNBA when they announced their intention to go pro. Naturally, the majority of the spotlight was on Clark. However, Brink made waves in the media with her model-like appearances as well as having a game to back it up. Add to that Angel Reese who has been balling out since donning a Chicago Sky jersey.

They do have their own issues to solve on the court. For Caitlin Clark, it is the turnovers. On the other hand, it is foul trouble for both Brink and Angel Reese. Along with them, the other draft picks are also waiting to make their mark. Once the three figure out solutions for these problems, they will be a force to reckon with.

Allowing the WNBA to make a massive leap in terms of exposure and revenue. This golden generation is sure to transform the sport like never before.
