If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. This was probably going through the mind of Rory McIlroy after having some troubles with his new golf clubs at the Arnold Palmer Invitational. The 4-time major champion reportedly spend around $995 on an Uber ride to fix his golf clubs woes.

At the Arnold Palmer Invitational at Bay Hill Club & Lodge in Florida, McIlroy was using the Qi35 model clubs of TaylorMade. Before this, he was using the Qi10 woods of them.

McIlroy had used these golf clubs during his triumph at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am. In the first three rounds of the Arnold Palmer Invitational, the North Irish golfer used his new models and shot scores of 70, 70, and 73 and was placed T10 after 54 holes.

He then decided to switch back to his old clubs, which helped him win at Pebble Beach. The only problem was, his clubs were at his home in Florida, around 2 and a half hours away from him. He thus booked an Uber to get them delivered.

As per Golfweek, his longtime manager, Sean Flaherty, confirmed that the Uber ride cost him $995 ($665 for the trip plus a $330 tip). So Rory McIlroy spent nearly one grand to fix the issues he was having with his clubs. He went on to fire an even-par score in the final round to finish T15.

After his first shot found the waters, Potter heckled McIlroy while reminding him about his 2011 Masters Collapse. The PGA Tour star was not impressed with this heckling and decided to take matters into his own hands.

Following his second shot, McIlroy would walk towards Potter. He would then ask to see his phone. At this moment, he shockingly seized Potter’s phone. The University of Texas golfer was then removed from the premises.

While Potter later apologized for his actions, McIlroy, on the other hand, refused to entertain the drama that had unfolded in the press conference. This brought out some strong reactions from social media users, who slammed the golfer for his actions and stood in support of Potter.

This was the second time this year when McIlroy had seemingly snapped at a heckler. During the Genesis Invitational, he fired back at a fan and dropped an F-bomb as a fan tried to heckle his caddie, Harry Diamond.
