In what is great news for Indian rowing, the lightweight double sculls team of Arjun Lal Jat and Arvind Singh secured a spot at the Tokyo Olympics after they came second in the final race at the Asia/Oceania Continental Olympic Qualifying Regatta which was held in Tokyo on Friday. There will be no representations however in the singles categories after the cancelation of various qualifying events.
Jakar Khan of India missed out on qualifying for the Games as he finished 4th in the men’s singles sculls final. On the other hand, in the doubles sculls event, the top three would make their way and with Arjun and Arvind coming second, they secured qualification.
