Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim warned that a ‘storm is coming’ toward the club, pointing to the difficult days that lie ahead. His comments come just ahead of a crucial upcoming encounter against second-placed Arsenal in the Premier League.

Ruben Amorim has enjoyed an unbeaten spell at United since taking over from Erik ten Hag. He has guided the club to a draw against Ipswich, followed by two successive victories against Bodo/Glimt and Everton. However, the Portuguese boss, who joined a fortnight ago, faces a huge test when United takes on Arsenal in a challenging EPL encounter at the Emirates.

The Red Devils do not enjoy the best of records against Arsenal over the past few seasons, with their last win coming two years back in 2022. While the Manchester United players are busy trying to adjust to Amorim’s 3-4-3 system as well as his tactics, the manager warned that a storm is very likely coming.

He used this expression to refer to the difficult moments ahead, despite a high-flying start to his tenure. Amorim added that the team is being built piece by piece, and the match against Arsenal would be a reality check. He also urged his team to focus on each match and improve their performances while trying to win.

I want to say different things, but I have to say it again: the storm will come. We are going to have difficult moments and we will be found out in some games.

In case Man Utd succeeds in defeating Arsenal, they would move just three points behind the Gunners on the EPL table. United are currently 9th on the table with just 19 points from 13 matches, while Arsenal are placed second. The Red Devils would also seek to continue their seven-match unbeaten run.

Manchester United reportedly initiate talks to sign Viktor Gyokeres in a bid to reunite him with Ruben Amorim

The Red Devils have reportedly opened concrete talks to sign Sporting CP sensation Viktor Gyokeres next summer, hoping to reunite him with Ruben Amorim. The Swedish forward has been one of Europe’s most in-form forwards and might attract a massive transfer fee of around £100 million.

Amorim was crucial in turning Gyokeres into what he is today after having signed him last summer from Championship side Coventry City. Under the Portuguese, the 26-year-old scored 66 goals in just 68 matches. This season, Gyokeres has scored a staggering 33 goals for both club and country. He could very well make a move to United, who are in search of a new forward.

However, the Red Devils would have to sell a few players first to accommodate him. United have a number of forwards up their ranks who have failed to perform, including veteran Marcus Rashford, Joshua Zirkzee, Antony, and Rasmus Hojlund.
