It hasn’t been one of the most promising seasons for Manchester United. Much to their woes, not only has it been a shaky start, but relegation fears are also rearing their ugly head. The defeat against Newcastle United remains another major blow to their aspirations. At the end of the first half of the tournament, United sits only seven points clear of the relegation zone.

Ever since taking over the reins of the club, Ruben Amorim has salvaged just two EPL wins, one which came against Manchester City. The expectations from Amorim weren’t lofty enough right at the start. However, the hopes of gradual improvement somehow have been snuffed out. Despite the rising challenges, the United boss posted an optimistic message for the fans on New Year’s Day.

I would like to thank you on behalf of everyone at Manchester United for your loyal support, and wish you all the very best for the new year. I know it will take a lot of hard work from everyone to get there, but I am very excited about where we can go together in 2025.

If the preceding results haven’t been tough enough for Ruben Amorim, the upcoming couple of weeks are going to be even more difficult. Manchester United will be travelling to Anfield for their first fixture of 2025 while they take on Arsenal next for an EFL Cup fixture.

Furthermore, some players have struggled with form as well. The likes of Marcus Rashford, Alejandro Garnacho and others have struggled to perform when it matters the most. It led to the sacking of Erik ten Haag, and now pressure mounts for Amorim as well.

Marcus Rashford rubbished claims of him moving to Saudi Arabia from Manchester United

There has been a lot of tug-of-war going around Marcus Rashford over the past few days. However, as reported by the Sun, apparently the English striker did meet with an agency and is eyeing a move to Saudi Arabia.
