Manchester United is set to play its first game under new manager Ruben Amorim. The Red Devils take on Ipswich Town in the Premier League on Sunday as Amorim continues to prepare his squad through training sessions.

Initial impressions point to the manager taking a keen interest in summer signing Leny Yoro, with a ‘major’ decision just over the horizon. Leny Yoro joined Manchester United in the summer transfer window from LOSC Lille, with his €62 million fee making him their most expensive signing this year.

However, he was sidelined up until recently after suffering a broken metatarsal. Now as he nears his full recovery, Yoro has returned to team training.

In Yoro’s first session with Amorim, the former started on the right of United’s back three, alongside Jonny Evans and Luke Shaw. It is understood that Yoro will play a significant role in Amorim’s squad, so much so that his debut could be against Ipswich Town on the weekend.

Ruben Amorim ‘unimpressed’ with intensity in Manchester United training

With former manager Erik ten Hag sacked and Ruben Amorim in charge, fans can expect things to change significantly at the club. For starters, Amorim is looking to implement a 3-4-3 formation at the club, as implemented in his initial training sessions.

As reported by The Sun, the former Sporting boss was ‘stunned’ by the lack of intensity by some of his players. That being said, several starters under Ten Hag were away on International duty.

Reports claim that the new manager was constantly urging those in training to ‘speed things up’. Furthermore, Amorim has also identified players that do not fit into his plans at the club.

Fans have high hopes on the new manager as the game against Ipswich edges closer. Presently, United is in 13th position with 15 points from the first 11 games. After the clash against Bodo/Glimt in the Europa League, Amorim’s side has games lined up against Everton, Arsenal and Nottingham Forest in the first week of December.
