Manchester United’s defeat against Newcastle United cost them dearly in the ongoing edition of the Premier League. With this defeat, United were rooted to the 14th position of the points table in the league. As the defeat stoked terrors of relegation, United boss, Ruben Amorim addressed the growing concerns in the United camp.
In the last five Premier League games played by United, they secured a solitary win, which came after a late drama against Manchester City. Ruben Amorim pointed out grimly that things aren’t looking great for Manchester United. In fact, he addressed the ongoing phase as one of the most difficult moments in the antiquity of United.
That is really clear. It’s one of the most difficult moments in the history of Man Utd and we have to address it with honesty. When you have these kind of moments, especially in the big clubs, it’s really hard to turn things around, especially when you don’t have a lot of time to train the basics, to cope with the difficult moments.
Ruben Amorim said to Sky Sports
Much to the woes of Ruben Amorim, Manchester United will be up against heavyweights of England in the following weeks. The Red Devils will be starting 2025 with a clash against Liverpool.

Following that, they will be up against Arsenal for an FA Cup fixture. With the kind of results that has preceded the last few weeks, Amorim will aim to pull off a miracle at Anfield.
Gary Neville slammed Manchester United for their ordinary display against Newcastle United
Former Manchester United star, Gary Neville, was aghast at the display of Manchester United. He was also the co-commentator for the game between Manchester and Newcastle. While on the microphone, he pointed out that somehow United is not settling into a pattern of good football.
You can’t go from where they are currently to an amazing performance. I get that completely. But what I would say is that you still need to see glimpses of things that you like, and this idea that Ruben Amorim’s got. I know that they’ve been struggling to get minutes on the training pitch, but you’d like to think from game to game that they’d actually start to settle into a pattern of playing some way, and we’re not seeing that yet.
Gary Neville said this during his commentary in the Manchester United Newcastle game

Neville also highlighted that Ruben Amorim is still yet to find his right set of players. According to the United legend, the players will have to settle into a pattern at the earliest. Unless that happens, the Red Devils might continue to struggle in the ongoing season, which only leads to further chaos.
