With INEOS entrusting Amorim with a rebuild at the club, every move the Portuguese makes will be perceived with scrutiny. Amorim outlined certain necessities, such as profiling players and weighing them up against the players available at the club’s academy.

Amorim also stated that United has a ‘small’ squad in comparison to other clubs. He spoke a lot about ‘improving’ the players at his disposal.

We need time to teach our idea and then we will see. If you don’t win, the coach goes, the players go. We have to arrange a lot of things in our club before just buying and selling players.
