Manchester United’s comeback win over Viktoria Plzen in the Europa League gave reason for celebration in the Red Devils’ camp. However, things turned ‘sour’ when United’s strike partnership of Rasmus Hojlund and Amad Diallo clashed at full-time.

The duo was seen engaging in a heated exchange, apparently due to Diallo not passing to the No. 9 in the final moments. While clashes within the squad are often looked down upon, United boss Ruben Amorim‘s reaction has surprised many.

The Portuguese has reacted rather positively to the incident, with his understanding of the same much different from what fans are used to.

It’s perfect. If we need to fight each other, it’s like a family. When you don’t care, you don’t do nothing.

Despite the argument, United pulled off an impressive 2-1 comeback win. The result meant that Amorim joined an exclusive list featuring only Sir Alex Ferguson and Matt Busby. Amorim became just the 3rd United manager to win both of his first two major European games since taking charge.

Rasmus Hojlund heroics hands win for Manchester United

Despite being the ‘better’ side on paper, Manchester United went behind in the 48th minute. After a goalless first half, Andre Onana played his side into trouble with a horrendous pass.

With the hosts punishing his mistake, the responsibility fell on United’s strikers to stage a comeback. It only took Rasmus Hojlund six minutes to find the net after being subbed on for Marcus Rashford.

The Danish striker didn’t have to work too much for his first, after a rebound from Amad Diallo’s strike set him up for an easy tap-in. The No. 9’s second goal of the night was much more impressive.

Captain Bruno Fernandes‘ disguised free-kick found the player inside the penalty area, who took a touch before firing low and hard into the bottom right corner. As his second goal sealed the win, United now sits in seventh position in the Europa League.

This gives the side a significant chance of qualifying for the knockouts. United’s next game is a daunting trip to the Etihad against struggling Manchester City. The Cityzens are in desperate need of a win after winning just one game in the last ten outings!
