Just a few days after missing out on a pedestal spot to face John Cena in his last WWE match, LA Knight got annihilated by The Vision on this week’s Raw. The fugitive masked assailant that blasted CM Punk inside WarGames stomped Knight’s head into the commentary table in his match against Logan Paul. It allowed the latter to pin ‘The Megastar’.
A lifeless Knight was then subject to destruction at the hands of Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed. After Breakker verbally torched Punk once again, Reed and Paul ambushed Knight backstage. The closing shot of Raw was Reed hitting the former US Champion with a Tsunami on the hood of a car. Was that a permanent write-off for the erstwhile Eli Drake, and is he silently done with WWE?
That narrative picked up steam in social media circles shortly after what fans believed was Knight getting buried on Raw. However, that’s not the case. Not only didn’t WWE essentially bury the former TNA World Champion, but also he has a certain number of years left on his current WWE deal, which he signed last year, as per Fightful Select. So Knight is staying with WWE for a long while.
WWE sources confirmed to @FightfulSelect that LA Knight still has years left on his WWE deal, and were surprised that some fans considered Monday's angle a burial.

Speaking of how the company officials internally viewed the online hubbub claiming that the closing segment of Raw was designed to bury the 43-year-old, they were surprised. In fact, as noted in the aforementioned report, that beatdown of Knight was merely a typical storyline angle that would be revisited in the near future.
Additionally, there’s no heat on ‘The Megastar’ from WWE in regard to him upholding a “We want LA Knight, not Jey Uso” fan signboard while making his entrance on the October 27 episode of Raw. A source from the company’s creative team quipped that having Knight beat Uso in the semifinals of The Last Time is Now tournament was a “weird punishment” if that were the case.
LA Knight positioned as one of the top babyfaces in WWE; stronger 2026 beckons for The Megastar
It certainly seemed like The Vision jumping LA Knight on Raw was to write him off TV for the rest of the year. And he definitely wouldn’t mind a short break heading into the holiday season. After all, he’s been a true workhorse for the company in 2025, having wrestled 66 matches, also including non-televised ones. No other male wrestler has wrestled more than Knight did in the past twelve months.

That being said, it’s time for ‘The Defiant One’ to recharge and come back with vengeance on his mind. The new year is expected to be more yielding for him, as per a new report from BodySlam. The outlet has noted that WWE still has Knight positioned as one of the top babyfaces on its roster. Moreover, his involvement with The Vision is intended to intensify those crowd reactions for the Maryland native.
LA Knight is still very much a top player for WWE.

Sources indicate to Bodyslam that 2026 will be a much better year for Knight. Knight is being positioned as one of the top babyfaces in the company and with him being involved with The Vision, it's only going to grow the crowd… pic.twitter.com/ML8AzGgZlC
The report added that WWE is aware of Knight being a red-hot commodity among fans, and the company is looking to play long-term with him. Those hyperbolic words might pique the core audience of ‘The Megastar’ that’s been longing to see him getting pushed up the card for the past couple of years or more.
Triple H: “Good things come to those who wait.”

Some outraged fans have repeatedly brought up that Triple H quote from the 2023 Money in the Bank post-show presser where he uttered that “Good things come to those who wait” in response to Knight not winning the MITB briefcase back then. The former Max Dupri has not allowed the inconsistent booking of WWE to dent his popularity among the fans. Only time will tell if he gets awarded for his resilience in 2026.
