Russell Wilson’s life appears to be just as eventful off the field as it is on it. After recently concluding his 14th year in the NFL, the veteran Giants quarterback appeared on the “First We Feast” and took on the renowned “Hot Ones Versus” challenge.

For those who aren’t familiar with the concept of the show, guests have to choose between two answers; if they don’t, they must gulp down spicy food, hence the title. The showrunners asked Wilson to compile a list of the best quarterbacks in the league. He kicked off the list with, obviously, Tom Brady, a 7-time Super Bowl champion.

After Brady, Wilson slotted in Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, who has three rings. Now, here comes the twist. Wilson picked himself as the third-best quarterback. Any guesses who was the fourth? Peyton Manning. Yes! The Sheriff, who won 2 championships with two different teams, only managed a fourth-place mention.

Sure, Wilson played in a couple of Super Bowls and beat Manning’s Broncos to win a ring, but still, to consider himself better than other greats like Joe Montana, Steve Young, Troy Aikman, and Dan Marino is a bit of a stretch. Then again, it’s Wilson’s list, so he can pick whomever he wants.

Russell Wilson faces a ring dilemma: Super Bowl or Marriage?

Wilson did not make the journey to the show alone. He was accompanied by his wife and singer Ciara. And this gave the producers an idea to pull a prank that Ciara very much enjoyed; Wilson, not so much.

Funny enough, Ciara was asked to read out the question written on a card, kept before them on the table. Her facial expression changed instantly.

Which is more important? Your Super Bowl ring or your wedding ring?

Ciara asked

Yikes! It’s one question that every married football player fears. It’s equivalent to choosing “Who is your favorite child?” Wilson folded quickly. It was clear that he did not want to risk answering. Honestly, there’s no good answer for these sorts of questions.

On top of it, Ciara threw in a curveball when Wilson said, “Don’t judge me.” The “How We Roll” singer quickly added, “We listen… We don’t judge.

Instead of taking the bait, Wilson opted for the third alternative. He ate a chicken wing, doused in fiery sauce. A couple of bites in, the 37-year-old seemed to question his decision.

Wilson hails from Cincinnati and spent a chunk of his life in North Carolina and Seattle, so he has tasted some of the best BBQ wings America has to offer. However, even he had to confess that this turned out to be the hottest wing ever to touch his tongue.

To his credit, Wilson ate the entire piece and readied himself to ask Ciara a question: “[Who is the] biggest diva around in the recording studio with?” Ciara coyly dodged the question and followed in her husband’s path and ate a wing. She handled the spice far better than Wilson, who was still suffering from the aftereffects.

What does the future hold for Russel Wilson?

Wilson saw the field for just 6 games in 2025. He went 0-3 as the starter before the coaches benched him in favor of rookie Jaxson Dart. Wilson completed 69 passes for 831 yards, threw 3 touchdowns, and conceded 3 interceptions. With his one-year deal running out in the coming weeks, Wilson will look to find a good spot where he can compete for a Super Bowl. There aren’t many options; the Cardinals and the Colts might offer him a deal.
