The NASCAR Cup garage is set to race for the first time at Iowa Speedway since the track was built in 2006. It was one of the many tracks stock car racing fans have long been asking to see in the Cup series along with many other venues that deserves a spot. While many drivers are looking forward to race there, they also has other tracks they wants to see Cup racing again.
For defending Cup champion Ryan Blaney, he wants to sport go to Chicago, no to the street race, but to the Chicagoland at Joliet. He doesn’t have another track in mind that he sees deserving a spot in the Cup series. The Team Penske Racing driver has urged NASACAR to revitalize the fan favorite track.
Joliet deserves to have a race back at it. I definitely think the track we need to revitalize. If we’re revitalizing tracks, let’s revitalize Chicago. You start with that one. The other ones I don’t have too many opinions about.Ryan Blaney told Fox Sports.
Chicagoland Speedway hasn’t been hosting any races over the last few seasons. The last time NASCAR raced at the track was back in 2019. It hosted Cup and Xfinity races from 2001 till 2019, while the Truck Serie race was hosted by the track from 2009 to 2019. Blaney would be hoping to secure his maiden win at track.
William Byron wants NASCAR to race in Montreal
Hendrick Motorsports’ star driver William Byron when asked the same question admitted that he wants NASCAR to go international. As he grew up watching racing Montreal, Canada, that was one of the races that excited him.
Montreal. I'd be excited to see Montreal. That one is high on my list for sure. I grew up watching NASCAR races there on TV. The area is really cool, and I feel like it would bring a lot of excitement to the Cup Series.Willaim Byron said.
More than Chicagoland Montreal would be the right choice for NASCAR as it would offer not just the nostalgic factor but also an international exposure. It would be interesting to see if NASCAR will return any of these two tracks in the new future.
