Micah Parsons and the Dallas Cowboys remain at odds in their long-standing contract dispute. Parsons still has one year left on his rookie deal, but an extension benefits both parties.
Although the preseason is almost over and the new season is imminent, the ongoing standoff between Parsons and the Dallas team continues to worry Cowboys fans. The situation took a wild turn on Thursday after owner Jerry Jones put Parsons’ agent, David Mulugheta, on the pedestal.
According to Jones, he was close to making Parsons the highest-paid non-quarterback in NFL history. However, Mulugheta intervened. The veteran owner described their exchange by using NSFW words.
Amidst all the chaos, Ryan Clark reached out to Mulugheta for answers. Mulugheta laughed when he heard Jones’ statement and denied ever remotely saying anything like that to the 82-year-old or to any other NFL general manager.
This never happened. This is just another public way to make this situation, which is already ugly, even uglier. David Mulugheta in no way has ever told Jerry Jones or any other general manager or owner that. It’s all bullc***. It’s all lies.

Before advancing forward, let’s address the elephant in the room. Most would be wondering the reason behind Clark’s motives in involving himself with Parsons’ situation.
There’s a common denominator. Mulugheta represents both Parsons and Clark. Outkick reported that Mulugheta helped Clark land a job with ESPN in 2024, even though that falls outside of a sports agent’s expertise.
In negotiations, I knew I wasn’t them, but I am me. So, I went about it my way with the help of @DavidMulugheta, because I kept score every time I walked on set. I felt like I had to kill every second of every show just to get what I deserve. The mission remains the same, but the space I move in is different. I’m happy for the journey.

@Realrclark25 is a “one of one”. Not many like him and definitely one of the most authentic people I’ve ever met. Like I’ve said before ESPN is lucky to have him and sports media as a whole is better because of him. #Top2AndHeNot2 https://t.co/AVZFxnNYei

In Clark’s defense, he’s only attempting to clear his agent’s name. Parsons, meanwhile, took matters into his hands. The 26-year-old sternly replies to Jones through his actions on social media. He removed any trace of the Cowboys from his X bio.
Micah Parsons continues to drop hints about a trade away from the Cowboys
Making changes to his X profile wasn’t the only move made by Parsons. He piled the pressure on by posting a video on TikTok, which was later uploaded to X by FOX Sports NFL insider Jordan Schultz.

In the clip, NBA legend Allen Iverson discusses personal success, no matter what’s next, with Parsons as the backdrop.
I’ma win wherever I go. Wherever I go, I’ma win. I don’t care where I go. I don’t give a damn what team I go to. I’ma win.
Micah Parsons posted a clip with Allen Iverson saying this

As things stand, the Cowboys and Parsons are not even close to being on the same page. NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero revealed that the gap between the two parties is only growing each day.
There is still time for things to move forward here. But Parsons has not practiced at all. He’s been in meetings, he’s been in walkthroughs, he’s been in game… But there’s still a conditioning piece to this in terms of ramping him up to play a game. That needs to happen quickly here.

It’s still baffling that the Cowboys have managed to drag this matter on for so long without seeing much progress. They need Parsons because he has been an All-Pro, a Pro Bowler, and the Defensive Rookie of the Year in 2021. The Cowboys’ defense will be in a tough spot if they end up trading him to another team.
