This was supposed to be the season that Travis Kelce and his Kansas City Chiefs took revenge for their Super Bowl LIX embarrassment and reclaimed their throne as the best team in the league.
There were indications that if he did indeed lift their fourth Super Bowl trophy, chances were high of him walking away from the game on a high. After his engagement to Taylor Swift in the offseason gave further fuel to those rumors that the 36-year-old might finally settle down with the pop sensation.
Then came the season, and despite a slow start, the Chiefs started to gain momentum, prompting some to believe they are about to snatch their throne back. A few more weeks later, that idea has seemingly been thrown out of the window.
Their loss to the Houston Texans at home was as embarrassing as it could be. Not only did it make a huge dent in their playoff hopes, but Travis Kelce’s future again became a hot topic.
Travis Kelce is coming to grips with the Kansas City Chiefs not being good enough… He (Tyler Warren) got 60 catches, 699 yards, and 4 TDs. Travis Kelce has 60 catches, 727 yards, and 5 TDs. He is not done… He’s struggling with not being able to find a way to find the answers.

Travis Kelce admits this season has been tough
All these discussions might not go anywhere until the person in question understands where his career is going. While talking about his performance in the Texans game, Travis Kelce said this on New Heights:
It’s been a tough go-around for the past 2 days. You put in all this work and hope that it pays off… I feel like I’ve always had the answers in years past. This year, I just can’t find them.

The Cincinnati alum detailed how, in years past, he could find answers to any problems he was facing. This season feels different, as in, he is not getting the results despite putting in the same amount of work.

Kelce reiterated that he will continue to work hard in the hope of finding those answers and playing better, as he and his team know they are facing unfamiliar territory this time.
Travis Kelce accepts responsibility on dropped pass
While talking about how this season has given Travis Kelce and his Kansas City Chiefs a hard reality check, the tight end then talked about his dropped pass against the Texans.

It’s a bad feeling, dropping the ball late in the game like that, when we were on our last chance to make something shake… You put in all this work to be there for your guys, and I just wasn’t that.
Travis Kelce said
The 10-time Pro Bowler was gloomy when talking about that dropped pass, as he believes he let his team down. The 6′ 5″ star also talked about how the team’s playoff situation has hit them hard.
He recalled that in years past, they would find a way to finish strong. But this season has been different, and the entire team is struggling to figure out what they need to do to improve their standings.
With their playoff position in jeopardy, Chiefs fans might be hoping that their team leads a late charge up the leaderboard. But it is not as if the teams above them are necessarily struggling, leaving Kelce and his teammates with a do-or-die situation.
