Entering the Wild Card round, superstar quarterback Josh Allen was under immense pressure to lead his Buffalo Bills past an unpredictable Jacksonville Jaguars.
Before the game, many, including Ryan Clark, believed that a loss to the underdog Miami-based team would negatively affect Allen’s legacy forever.
As the reigning league MVP, the ESPN analyst believed he needed to will his team to a win. Thankfully, for the soon-to-be first-time father, he did exactly what his critics wanted.
The Bills led for most of the game, but in the fourth quarter, started to edge forward as Trevor Lawrence started finding receivers. As the pressure continued to pile on Josh Allen, he, too, delivered.
After connecting with Dalton Kincaid on a 15-yard pass, the QB ran in one on his own to ensure his team was still ahead. Then, after his defense intercepted Lawrence to seal the game, Ryan Clark wrote this on X:
One team has Josh Allen & the other one did not. Pretty simple. That’s one for Allen & Buffalo. Now waiting for the next young QB to run down. Best player in the AFC playoffs. Got to put them on his back! He did today. 3 more. Dude is different!

This was the Super Bowl champion’s opinion, clearly praising the 29-year-old for coming up clutch when his team needed it. His three-touchdown performance was what Clark was expecting from someone who needs a Super Bowl to cement his legacy.
Robert Griffin III shades Josh Allen’s critics after stellar win
With Ryan Clark getting some confirmation that Josh Allen was clutch, Robert Griffin III took to X to remind the Bills star’s critics of something.

Josh Allen’s legacy was never on the line during these playoffs despite Lamar Jackson, Patrick Mahomes and Joe Burrow not being in the playoffs. But 100% anyone out there who said that it was doesn’t know ball. Glad the Buffalo Bills shut up those clowns.

He might not have mentioned Ryan Clark’s name, or any of his former colleagues at ESPN, who were the ones piling up the pressure on Josh Allen to win this game.
Griffin III has some history with Clark, but chose to make it as indirect as possible, while also shading the former safety and his colleagues at ESPN for constantly moving the goalposts when it came to Allen’s legacy.

The former Washington Redskins quarterback believes that all those critics are not looking at what makes Josh Allen great, regardless of who remains in the postseason. It seems he wanted to remind the Bills superstar’s critics that the Wyoming alum is as good as advertised.
Josh Allen has a nonchalant response to critics
Robert Griffin III might not be the only one who caught wind of what Ryan Clark, his ESPN colleagues, and a few others in the media were trying to do. After the game, CBS Sports’ Tracy Wolfson asked Josh Allen what he and his team had to do to stop the critics from undermining them.
We’ve got to do it again.
Josh Allen replied
Wolfson came to this question after initially asking how Allen managed to come through despite getting hit all day long, with the athletic Jaguars defense doing anything to slow him.

During that conversation, the QB continuously praised his teammates for doing their jobs, essentially putting his team ahead of himself. After that, to give such a nonchalant reply to the critic’s question seemingly sums up their mindset.
They may have taken up the ‘us vs. the world’ mantra to motivate themselves ahead of this clash. Maybe that is why he did not want to give his critics further ammunition ahead of the Divisional round.
