Former safety Ryan Clark is one of the mainstays on ESPN’s NFL coverage, and has been getting a lot of heat for his somewhat questionable opinions on certain matters.

He also uses his podcast to express his thoughts, and comments on that platform have contributed to the narratives surrounding the former Super Bowl champion. Some believe Clark uses race to make points that otherwise might not seem logical.

For instance, the recent developments surrounding former LSU star Kyren Lacy‘s involvement in a car crash that killed a 69-year-old. The former Pittsburgh Steelers star claimed that Lacy committed suicide despite being ‘innocent’. The following day, he had to apologize after new footage revealed Lacy was responsible for the accident.

Many believe Ryan Clark is a specialist at rage-baiting, as he manages to get the entire sports world to talk about him and his comments. Back on September 4th, the former safety said this on First Take:

I think John Elway was a generational talent. I think Patrick Mahomes is a generational talent. I don’t think Tom Brady, I don’t think Drew Brees, I don’t think Peyton Manning are generational talents.

Clark was trying to explain his logic as to why generational talent does not necessarily equate to having an illustrious career. However, when he claims that Tom Brady, Drew Brees, or Peyton Manning are not generational talents, it is bound to cause some trouble.

They are arguably three of the best quarterbacks in the history of the game, and have most of the statistical accolades, along with trophy cases to make anyone go weak in their knees.

Fans tear into Ryan Clark for his bizarre take

When a clip of this opinion resurfaced on social media, even sports fans who are not aware of Ryan Clark‘s bizarre and controversial takes were taken aback.

They believe it was absurd on the part of the ESPN analyst to give such an opinion, especially when one knows what Tom Brady, Drew Brees, and Peyton Manning have done in their respective careers.

The take was so bizarre that even those who know how Clark opines were left shaking their heads. They believe the Louisiana native has either lost it or is doing whatever he can to stoke controversy.

Fans could not understand how ESPN keeps employing him, especially after his recent run. Check out examples of those heated social media reactions below:

The thing is that in this day and age, networks appreciate it if their reporters and or analysts can attract attention through controversial takes. That is probably why Ryan Clark continues to be on ESPN despite what he has said so far.

Maybe he will exercise caution, especially when it comes to controversial topics. But when it comes to matters concerning sports, he will continue to voice his opinions the way he wants it.

Ryan Clark wants JuJu Smith-Schuster to beg Elon Musk and get picture of him off X

JuJu Smith-Schuster and Brian Branch became the talk of the NFL when the latter punched the Chiefs’ wideout and then went after him, causing a huge commotion in the dying seconds of their Week 6 clash.

There’s absolutely no way you can let this live on the internet!

This was Ryan Clark tagging the picture of Smith-Schuster with his bloodied face being repeatedly pummeled by the Detroit Lions star. The ESPN analyst believes it will be detrimental for the Chiefs’ star if this picture continues to stay on social media.

It is as if he believes the wideout’s reputation is at stake if a picture of him being embarrassed becomes immortal. This is just another example of athletes and their reputations, something that Clark leaned into when belittling Peter Schrager recently on ESPN.
