As the Super Bowl LIX concluded with the Philadelphia Eagles’ victory, the New Orleans Saints didn’t waste much time in approaching Philly’s Offensive Coordinator Kellen Moore as the NFL constraint was removed. While this move has been very well praised by the league and fans alike, Ryan Clark put forward an essential question of whether the Saints have the patience to allow Moore to grow into his role.
Since Drew Brees’ retirement in 2021, things have been only challenging for the Saints, and with the aging roster, Moore would have to put in a boatload of effort and time to turn things around in the franchise. And that’s what concerns the NFL analyst Clark, as he observed that the Saints’ turnaround under Moore may not be as quick as his previous teams.
We also have to see what Kellen Moore is going do with the offense. This is the team that has an aging roster and big contracts with some of those aging players. So this isn’t going to be a quick turnaround. So if you are the New Orleans Saints, say will you be patient enough for Kellen Moore to learn to get the best offense out of these players while acquiring the young players that can now be a part of this team and help this team become seen as he becomes more comfortable as the head coach.

Moore is known for his offensive brilliance in the league in one season with both the Los Angeles Chargers and the Eagles– whom he coached to the Super Bowl triumph; was enough for him to establish his prominence. But as he takes upon the role of head coach in New Orleans, the path may relatively be slower for him. Given the Saints’ struggle of recent times, they seem to be happy about the glimmer of hope that Moore brings along with him.
Kellen Moore optimistic about revitalizing Derek Carr’s game
Things utterly collapsed in New Orleans, when legend Brees announced his retirement following the 2020 season when they won the NFC South title with a 12-4 record. In his replacement, the franchise brought in quarterback Derek Carr but they haven’t been able to qualify for the postseason since then; making fans scrutinize his performance.
“Derek’s a tremendous quarterback in this league. He’s a starter in this league. He’s a premier player in this league … Really excited to team up with him and go through this process,” said Moore about Carr at his introductory press conference, via NFL Insider Mike Garafolo.

Carr is coming off a 5–12 losing record, where he posted 2,145 yards, 15 touchdowns, and five interceptions. The quarterback’s 13-19 record over the past two seasons has led to increasing scrutiny as the starting position, but there remains a glimmer of hope that Moore’s offensive acumen could be just what Carr needs to reach his full potential.
