Ryan Clark launches verbal attack on Donald Trump for his ‘assault’ on DEI: “He is the exact reason we need DEI”
Ryan Clark, an advocate of DEI (Diversity, Equity and Inclusivity) in football shared his disappointment after hearing about Donald Trump's attempt to abolish the movement which will have bad effect on the African Americans.

Donald Trump’s executive order to dismantle DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) throughout the USA also affected the National Football League (NFL). The ‘End Racism’ tagline that proudly found its place just below the goalposts became its casualty even though NFL commissioner Roger Goodell revealed that they pushed back against the decree.
Goodell assured on Tuesday that the NFL endorses diversity and their efforts of inclusion have had a positive effect on the game from the grassroots level.
I believe our diversity efforts have led to making the NFL better. It’s attracted better talent. We think we’re better when we get different perspectives, people with different backgrounds, whether they’re women or men or people of color.
Roger Goodell said via FOX News
A few days after Goodell’s speech, Ryan Clark, known for being a stern critic of Donald Trump’s policies, lashed out at the President’s DEI mandate. The Super Bowl winner believes the executive order passed to dismantle DEI is an attack on diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Clark supported Goodell’s decision to back the inclusion of diversity movement in the NFL. He argued the DEI was a necessity because, without its existence, minority groups (African Americans) were excluded from places of importance, unlike their white counterparts.
It was big for Roger Goodell to stand up as the NFL Commissioner and say diversity has been good. The elevation of minority of groups within the NFL has made this game better.
Ryan Clark said in a recent episode of The Pivot Podcast
Roger Goodell stood strong when asked if the NFL would halt diversity efforts amidst President Trump’s campaign against DEI. I appreciated the commissioner’s stance, & more importantly his reasoning. Having a diverse group of representation makes the NFL better!

Donald Trump’s DEI mandate will hurt the progress of minorities, feels Ryan Clark
The retired defensive back turned analyst views DEI as a pathway for minorities to get equal opportunities in football, and it has gotten even better in recent years. Now Trump’s anti-DEI stance will revert back to a more primitive environment.

It’s only 36% African American when we look at the assistant coaching ranks, which are a lot of times former players who now get those jobs… This past cycle, Aaron Glenn [Jets head coach] was the only one African American coach to be hired… It’s very obvious, it’s like in life, you are gonna hire what’s familiar; you are gonna hire people close to you… The problem is that the minorities aren’t in the position of power to make those sort of hires and have those sort of voices in representation.

According to Trump and his allies, DEI unfairly discriminates against other Americans, including white people and men. By abolishing it, they will establish a system to appoint individuals who deserve to be in that position instead of choosing someone based on their skin color.
A Reuters poll revealed that 59% of respondents, including 30% of the Republicans, were opposed to the Trump government’s efforts to promote the hiring of women and people of color in places of importance.
