Aaron Rodgers opened a can of worms when he first called out former football players working with ESPN for criticizing him. In return, the likes of Mina Kimes and Ryan Clark shot back at the New York Jets quarterback for his hypocritical take while on The Pat McAfee Show.
Ryan Clark for instance, called the 41-year-old a fraud, which seemed to tick the QB off more than what anyone else said. The ESPN analyst mentioned The Pat McAfee Show paid Rodgers for his opinion which discredits his criticism of sports analysts.
Aaron Rodgers then escalated the situation and directly accused Clark of lacking the accomplishments to discuss him. He even invoked Clark’s vaccination status to disregard the Super Bowl champion. He cited Clark being ‘captured’ by multi-billion dollar organizations were enough to disregard his opinion.
Clark tried to get in touch with those at The Pat McAfee Show for clarification, but to no avail. He then decided to take to his X account while wearing the lapel pin with his initials on his hoodie and said this in response to the New York Jets QB’s comments.
As far as your vaccination status, so you can stop trying to trick people into thinking that we want to talk about that above the stink of your film. People didn’t care that you weren’t vaccinated, they cared that you were slimy about it. They cared that you were deceitful about it.

I won’t let Aaron Rodgers’ vax smoke screen distract me from the stench of the tape. He’s entitled to his opinion, but to say you aren’t concerned with what we say is a lie… I mean it’s the reason we are here.

It’s a continuation of his hypocrisy that started with criticizing… pic.twitter.com/Ko0ogDFHnQ
This was in ode to the controversy Aaron Rodgers created during the COVID 19 season when he claimed to be ‘immunized’. But once the NFL found out he lied, they slapped him and the Green Bay Packers with heavy fines.
Ryan Clark continues to slam Aaron Rodgers’ play
Once the ESPN analyst was done clarifying the vaccination stance, he went back to talking about why he continues to think Aaron Rodgers is a hypocrite. He went on to talk about how he will continue to do his job, adding that accolades or vaccination status won’t stop him from doing so.

Let me be very, very clear. My job is to analyze you. And in analyzing you, what I know is your QBR is 21st. Also know that you’re the quarterback of a 4-10 team who has to win the last three games of the season to even be equal to what last year’s team was without you. And if you continue to be arrogant or smug or hypocritical, and pertains to my job, I’m going to do it.

Ryan Clark added that his opinion on Rodgers was based on the stories he heard from the QB’s teammates. He felt it was hypocritical coming from someone who was sitting across three people who never played the game on that very show. Yet they analyze football along with another former player who is more famous for his analysis now.
This back and forth between the four-time league MVP and analysts might be good for ratings. But it also has the potential of blowing up things at ESPN. The network broadcasts The Pat McAfee Show but has no control over their content. That leaves the likes of Clark, and his colleagues open to defend their turf.
