Since Micah Parsons‘ arrival at the Green Bay Packers, he has seemingly given their defense an extra gear they reach for every time they go up against any opponent.
Their task against the league-leading Denver Broncos in Week 15 was not going to be easy, but the defense was aware that their opponents had struggled to find their offensive rhythm.
To execute that plan, they let their most important pass rusher loose, but that is what ended up costing him his season, as per former safety Ryan Clark.
Micah Parsons is hurt because of Bo Nix… The violence in which Micah Parsons had to chase Bo Nix the entire second half was extremely evident.
Ryan Clark said on NFL Live
At first, this assumption might leave everyone listening either shaking their heads or commenting on social media, asking for ESPN to fire the former Super Bowl champion.

The start of his statement was that bizarre. However, Clark said this based on some logic. He noticed that the Broncos’ offensive line did a good enough job to keep the Packers’ defensive players away from their quarterback. But since the secondary was covering the Broncos’ receivers well, Bo Nix had to move around the pocket a lot in order to find the extra space for his wideouts to catch his passes.
Clark believes that in his attempts to keep the Broncos quarterback at bay, Parsons had to constantly shift around the offensive linemen, which ended up putting immense pressure on his ACL, causing it to blow.
Tests confirm Micah Parsons tore his ACL
Ryan Clark pointed towards that one play when Bo Nix tried to move out to his right so that he could target Marvin Mims. When Micah Parsons saw the QB draw towards his right, he had to change direction in an attempt to disrupt the throw.

That is where the pass rusher’s knee buckled, and he went down before he could reach the Broncos QB. As he lay on the ground, he was visibly in pain.
He eventually walked off the field on his own, but had to wait until they got back to Green Bay to get a proper MRI done. As per Ian Rapoport, the MRI confirmed that the 26-year-old did indeed tear the ACL in his left knee.

Recovery is pegged to be around 9 months at the least, which means Micah Parsons will have to wait until September next year. For someone whose skill is based on how he can move around offensive linemen, the Packers could take it easy and help him make a full recovery.
Micah Parsons is sure he will return in September 2026
After the confirmation came through, it dawned on Micah Parsons and his team that he would take the same amount of time as Patrick Mahomes, who also went down on the same day with an ACL tear.
The Penn State star took to social media to remind everyone that he was not ‘defeated’, and that God has a plan for him. He then thanked the Packers for all the support they have given him and reiterated that he ‘will rise again.’
I may be sidelined, but I am not defeated. This injury is my greatest test—a moment God allowed to strengthen my testimony. I believe He walks with me through this storm and chose me for this fight because He knew my heart could carry it. I’m deeply grateful to the Packers… pic.twitter.com/KZy6TZKJfs

A while later, Parsons added another post to his timeline, where he used a picture of an injured lion with one eye open, and with the caption, ‘September.’

This means he is targeting a return to the gridiron by September 2026. At the time of an injury, every athlete tries to be as positive as they can. Then, their recovery gives them a better picture as time passes.
However, he also saw that Joe Burrow returned sooner than anticipated. Parsons must feel good about his prospects, believing he could do a Burrow and return earlier than expected.
