Ryan Clark works as an NFL analyst at ESPN and has been doing that for some time. But when it comes to his LSU Tigers Football Team, the former safety tends to step into the discussion.
The University has just let go of former head coach Brian Kelly, a day after the Tigers lost at home to Texas A&M. It seems the 5-3 record for this season was not good enough for Athletic Director Scott Woodward.
Usually, fans and analysts would just be focused on the next head coach the program hires. However, the scenario quickly turned political when Louisiana Governor Jeff Landry stepped in.
The Governor stated at a press conference that Woodward would not be selecting the next head coach of their college football program. This seemed to irk Ryan Clark, who said this on First Take:
First off, it’s the second most ridiculous thing he said this week. The first was standing on campus and saying he wanted to put a statue of somebody that doesn’t represent the people of Louisiana, doesn’t represent the players and students of LSU… This is the second dumbest.

The Super Bowl champion was referring to Governor Landry’s recent demand that LSU erect a statue of the late Charlie Kirk on campus grounds. That statement brought some unwanted noise to the University.
Fans tear into Ryan Clark for Charlie Kirk logic
Fans watching this clip had no qualms about what Ryan Clark said about Scott Woodward’s work as Athletic Director. However, they did have a problem with his opinion of Charlie Kirk.
Some pointed out that the analyst failed to realize that Louisiana consists of 60% Republican voters, and hence, would appreciate it if LSU or any other program in the state were to build a statue of the slain political activist.
Therefore, they did not agree with Clark’s opinion that Kirk did not represent the people of Louisiana. They believe he was again playing his racism card, which ESPN should not allow after many recent mishaps. Check out examples of those reactions below:

Imagine if Ryan Clark and Jemele Hill were forced to talk about something other than imagined racism. It would be funny to watch. They wouldn't have anything to say.

Charlie Kirk actually represents a pretty good amount of people in Louisiana actually. Speaking from a ULL graduate lol.

Always in the middle of some debate that she doesn’t need to be in. And!! The ones who know her best are terrified of what she might say and when.
Ryan Clark might be speaking on point, as Scott Woodward has helped the LSU Tigers bring back superiority in many of their athletic programs. He believes that itself should give the Athletic Director grace.
Governor Jeff Landry details why Scott Woodward should not select next football head coach
After Governor Jeff Landry detailed that Scott Woodward will not pick the next college football head coach, many wondered if he was wielding his power to position himself to pick the next coach.

While speaking on the Pat McAfee Show, he was asked if he was directly involved in the search for the next head coach. To this, the Governor replied:
I am not picking the coach. That is not my job… The only reason that I’m really involved is because this contract that currently is between the state of Louisiana, the LSU University system, and Brian Kelly, leaves the taxpayers of this state on the bill… I care about the taxpayers of our state.
Landry went on to reveal that the state of Louisiana might have to bear the burden of Brian Kelly’s nearly $54 million payout if the LSU Tigers do not foot the bill.

That is why he had to step in, as such a massive bill will place the burden on the public taxpayer. He now has to think about the $6.8 million buyout LSU has to pay Scott Woodward after they parted ways.
