It’s fair to say that Ryan Fitzpatrick doesn’t know how to use a clipper, seeing as he completely botched it while using it on a fan. The former NFL quarterback wanted to pay homage to Philadelphia Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni, but the end result was funnier than anyone predicted.

After a 2-2 start to the season, many analysts and football pundits alike wanted the Eagles to fire Sirianni while they still had the chance. To show his resolve, Sirianni shaved his hair and went on an unbeaten run.

The Eagles won five consecutive games, including a dominating win over divisional rivals the Dallas Cowboys in Week 10. He knows the job isn’t over because one slip would undo all the hard work.

On Thursday, the Eagles faced the Washington Commanders. Before kickoff, Ryan Fitzpatrick had the great idea of shaving a fan’s head off to show respect for Sirianni for keeping his word.

Ryan Fitzpatrick witnessed monumental failure while using a clipper to shave a fan’s head

After locating his target among the crowd who gathered around the Amazon Thursday Night broadcast booth, Fitzpatrick gave the clipper a whizz around the fan’s hair. Nothing happened.

The former Jets quarterback tried a few times to cut his hair, but to his disappointment, the clipper wouldn’t work. It’s as if his hair was made of cement. Fitzpatrick had no other option but to accept defeat and return to the booth.

Sirianni’s Eagles keep the winning streak alive

The fixture between the two NFC East sides brought out the best and the worst from both. On one hand, the Commanders took an early lead through running back Brian Robinson Jr. early in the first half, and on the other, Eagles kicker Jake Elliott scored back-to-back field goals, shocking the crowd inside the Lincoln Financial Field.

Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts did not throw a single touchdown all night while Washington’s Jayden Daniels turned the ball over twice and threw one interception and a touchdown with only 30 seconds left until the final whistle.

Daniels found tight end Zach Ertz inside the Eagles’ red zone for a five-yard score, reducing the deficit to ten points. They burned the clock out while converting the two points. The first try was nullified by the referee, but the Commanders converted it on the second attempt. However, there was no time left, and the Eagles won the game 26-18.

Hurts ended the game with 18 completions from 28 passes for 221 yards, along with 10 carries for 39 yards and 1 rushing touchdown. Running back Saquon Barkley eclipsed 1000 yards for the season in the game by running the ball 26 times for 146 rushing yards and 2 touchdowns.

The win takes Nick Sirianni’s Eagles above the Commanders with an 8-2 record. Next week, they will be on the road to face the Los Angeles Rams.
