With a stellar performance, the Philadelphia Eagles scored their sixth consecutive victory in Week 11 against the Washington Commanders. While running back Saquon Barkley was undoubtedly the star of the night, quarterback Jalen Hurts had a solid performance. Despite this, Ryan Fitzpatrick expressed his displeasure with Hurts’ performance and didn’t hesitate to voice his criticism in the post-game analysis.

While talking about the Eagles’ six-game winning streak in the post-game show, Fitzpatrick expressed his confidence in the team’s path to success this season. However, at the same time, he reflected skepticism regarding quarterback Hurts’ ability to lead his team to the Super Bowl, stating concerns about his performance.

Let’s talk about Jalen Hurts tonight. They won. His stats look OK… But I walk out of this game with not a ton of confidence with the way he’s playing right now. To me, it seems like, if there’s [an opposing] team that gets out there and scores, that’s going to rear its ugly head at some point.

Ryan Fitzpatrick said in the Post-Game show

Although there’s no denying that Hurts’ performance was below average in the first half of the Thursday Night Football Game after missing crucial wide-open A.J. Brown, the Eagles’ strong suit has never been about attacking teams vertically. After the rocky start, the reason behind their success has been the dynamic rushing attack, dominant offensive line, and enveloping defense.

Despite the first-half struggle, the Pro Bowler quarterback pulled his game together in the second half with a rushing touchdown and three back-to-back scoring drives leading to the solid 26-18 victory against the divisional rivals. That’s why, fans didn’t spare the former NFL quarterback for scrutinizing Hurts unnecessarily.

Dov Kleiman, who shared the clip from the Post-Game show wrote, “This is a laughable take from Ryan Fitzpatrick.” He was joined by fans criticizing the analyst on his take, writing, “Hurts has better numbers than Fitzpatrick.. Ryan is just a talking head.” Here are some of the fan reactions:

Fitzpatrick didn’t take the heavy criticism lightly and took his social media to call out the fans supporting Hurts. He argued that the Eagles quarterback has previously played at a much higher level which set the standard for him to be measured that successively. He also clarified that Philly’s current roster is of Super Bowl caliber but seeing their passing game raised some concerns in his mind, which is expressed post-game.
