The NFL regular season drew to a close and the first order of business few teams did was to make changes to their coaching staff. Not complete changes as positions remain vacant following those dismissals. That meant the likes of Minnesota Vikings DC Brian Flores was in line to get interviews for head coaching jobs.
Flores has head coaching experience with the Miami Dolphins. However, that tenure did not end well after he apparently lost the locker room. His behavior towards quarterback Tua Tagovailoa was also touted as a reason the ownership decided to part ways.
With the Minnesota Vikings, he has repaired his reputation. Players swear by him as an outstanding leader who has taken a decent group to play at the highest level. Additionally, he has not shown to repeat the issues he had with the Dolphins.
The combination of those performances and his prior experience leading a team led to him being linked to the Chicago Bears and other head coaching positions. Ryan Fitzpatrick played under Flores and had some praise for his former HC while on the Fitz & Whit podcast.
He was likable. He was relatable. He demanded a lot out of the players, but he was also able to get the version of his players. And I really appreciated him for that.
Ryan Fitzpatrick said.
Ryan Fitzpatrick had some tough words and a warning for team’s interested in his former HC Brian Flores.

? Flores has been a “hot name” of late and had success in PIT and MIN as an assistant/coordinator, so people have forgotten how badly it ended in Miami.

The quarterback added to his nickname ‘Fitzmagic’ playing under Flores. He revealed that Brian Flores was instrumental in pushing Miami Dolphins players to play to their best despite them tanking for Tua Tagovailoa. The following year, that reaped benefits when the Dolphins finished 10-6.
Ryan Fitzpatrick details how Brian Flores changed into a ‘Dictator’ over time
The now 42-year-old analyst would leave the Miami Dolphins after the 2020 season. In his second year there, he saw how Brian Flores developed as a leader of men. Rather, it was quite the opposite as Ryan Fitzpatrick went on to reveal.

As his tenure went on in Miami, he kind of became unrecognizable. I think by the end of his time there, he became a dictator. He ruined a lot of relationships that he built up through the NFL. And his ego grew so big that there wasn’t room for anyone else.
Ryan Fitzpatrick said.
The now Prime Video analyst told colleague Andrew Whitworth that as time progresses, people forget how it ended for Brian Flores at the Miami Dolphins. But he acknowledged the Minnesota Vikings DC had improved his reputation over time.
He believes teams should not forget what led to his dismissal. Flores was let go despite having two winning seasons with the Dolphins. On top of that Tua Tagovailoa recently revealed how it was under Flores. Fitzpatrick believes teams should think about those aspects before handing him the job.
