The infamous Ryan Garcia is known for his extravagant display of skills inside a boxing ring. However, apart from professional boxing Garcia’s social media activities often become headlines. In a recent incident of passing racial slurs and Islamophobic comments on a live, the 25-year-old boxer faced backlash from a lot of places.

Following that, last night he put out an apology on his social media handles. However, in his plea to the public, he essentially maintained that his words were not his fault. Garcia blamed the folks for being too sensitive and while doing so he claimed he was advocating the end of black people on black crime.

If you got triggered by a word that means you are too sensitive. God knows my heart and how I would protect black children. I was speaking against black on black crime. They took everything out of the context including the muslim part.

Interestingly his heartfelt apology came after he was expelled by the World Boxing Council, president Mauricio Sulaiman. The president expressed his views and said he rejects any form of discrimination and wants Ryan to take some mental health assistance for his well-being.

Moreover, Ryan Garcia is also serving a one-year suspension after testing positive for using performance-enhancing drugs in his fight against Devin Haney. The 25-year-old boxer was also arrested in June on felony vandalism charges. Garcia’s family addressed his recent troubling behavior as well as his social media remarks. Even his promoter expressed his thoughts on the situation.

Oscar De La Hoya currently resides as the chairman of Golden Boy Promotions. Ryan Garcia signed with Oscar De La Hoya’s company in the year 2016. Since then both the parties had a successful run in the professional boxing circuit.

With Garcia’s current 24-1-1 record, both parties were quite happy with each other. However, the 25-year-old boxer’s current off-the-ring expeditions have set out a disappointment in the promoter’s eyes. Oscar De La Hoya released a statement expressing his views on the entire fiasco.

There is no room for hate or intolerance at my company. Period. I condemn Ryan’s words in the strongest terms possible.

However, in a comment on the post, Garcia said that he is heading to rehab. From the outside, Garcia’s behavior in recent months has appeared to be erratic. But after he defeated Haney, it seemed possible that he had been playing possum and putting on an act to sell the fight and make his opponent let his guard down. Now it remains to be seen what awaits the star in the near future. Hopefully, he comes back with a better and stronger mindset.
