The world of Boxing is exciting at the moment. Nevertheless, one bombshell announcement recently sent shockwaves through the boxing universe. Ryan Garcia declared his “official” retirement from the sport. The 25-year-old superstar took to social media, citing a perfect storm of personal challenges that ultimately forced his hand.

Ryan Garcia revealed the personal challenges he had been facing recently. These included his mother being diagnosed with cancer, him getting sued, and his supplements being tainted, amongst others. In the end, Garcia ended the tweet praising God.

Mom has cancer. I’m being sued. My supplements were tainted. Going thru a divorce. Always GETTING SH*T TALKED  on the internet FOR YEARS. Devin asking for my victory to be taken away. I’m getting hit with everything. I STILL LOVE GOD, HE IS EVERYTHING.

Ryan Garcia hinted at the immense physical and emotional toll weighing on his shoulders. In another post, Garcia stated that he had taken his official retirement from boxing. This was due to the immense pressure of all these events happening simultaneously. Apparently, the boxer just couldn’t hold it together anymore.

It must, however, be noted that Garcia is known for making wild claims every now and then. His meltdown before the Devin Haney fight had everyone believing he was mentally unsound. Nevertheless, he came into the ring fully prepared and won against the champion. However, the win was marred by the failed drug tests.

The bitter feud between boxing superstars Devin Haney and Ryan Garcia took another contentious turn recently. Haney appeared to relish in his rival’s misfortune. He hinted at Garcia potentially facing a two-year ban for positive drug tests.

Devin Haney revealed this information in a post on X. ‘The Dream’ revealed that he would take some time off and face Garcia again after two years. This implied that Garcia might be getting a two-year ban from the sport for testing positive for Ostarine. Check out what he posted below:

The calculated jab seemed to directly reference the ongoing controversy surrounding Garcia’s failed drug tests. A two-year ban, if levied, would represent a career-altering blow for the 25-year-old phenom. This may be a fair chunk of his prime years, and they may slip away.
