Ryan Garcia and Devin Haney have an obvious animosity towards each other following their recent boxing bout. As such, both boxers often trade verbal shots at each other. Interestingly, this time again, Garcia took another shot at Haney. In doing so, he brutally roasted the 25-year-old.
Devin Haney’s return has recently been discussed by Matchroom Boss Eddie Hearn, who stated that he’s looking for several intriguing matchups for Haney. According to several reports, Australian undefeated boxer Liam Paro has been linked to the 25-year-old. However, amidst that, Haney’s rival Ryan Garcia took the opportunity to mock him for his current inactivity in the ring.
When he returns to boxing, he’ll say, ‘Boxing missed me for three months.’ Nobody even knew you were gone. If your daddy ain’t speaking, nobody [cares] about you. Second, if all, how are you going to fight a random civilian at the OC Fair and didn’t get a knockout there? You can’t even knock out a civilian, let alone a professional fighterRyan Garcia via SAY CHEESE!
Ryan Garcia mocked Devin Haney in reference to the latter’s recent viral clips of a public altercation. A few weeks ago, Haney failed to land a cheeky shot at a civilian. Garcia took great fun of that viral clip as he immediately rushed to his socials to mock his foe. Haney last faced ‘KingRy‘ back on April 20th at the Barclays Center. After testing positive for the banned substance Ostarine, the result was overturned.
Garcia is currently facing an NYSAC-imposed year ban from boxing. However, amidst that, the 26-year-old mentioned his wish to box before the year’s end. Garcia had been quite enjoying his time lately, completing several side quests. On the other hand, as it seemed, Haney made very few public appearances. Interestingly, when the 25-year-old did, he found himself in trouble.
Matchroom boss claims the loss against Ryan Garcia has hurt Devin Haney
The boxing bout between Ryan Garcia and Devin Haney was excellent in terms of pre-fight build-up and the fight. Garcia destroyed undefeated Haney with several knockdowns, which sometimes even hurt the 25-year-old badly. However, the fight was later turned into a no-contest. Following this, Haney even celebrated for being undefeated again. Meanwhile, Matchroom boss Eddie Hearn was seemingly confused watching the 25-year-old’s post-fight antics.
In a recent interview session with Fight Hub TV, Eddie Hearn discussed several buzzing topics of boxing, including Terence Crawford’s next fight. In doing so, he also had a brief conversation about Devin Haney’s current state of mind after the Garcia fight.
I think the defeat hurt him on many levels because, one, he probably never thought he'd get beat. Two, I think the drug test stuff was hard for him to take, the weight stuff like everything, and it was almost like, you know when Ryan tested positive, Devin sort of got the blame.Eddie Hearn via Fight Hub TV
According to Hearn, social media seemed to play a major role after the fight. The Matchroom boss also mentioned that netizens criticized Haney even though he fought fairly against Garcia. Interestingly, as for KingRy, he did not face such criticisms even after testing positive for PEDs.
