Controversial boxer Ryan Garcia makes the headlines again. This time for casually announcing his next potential fight in a live stream. The 27-year-old American boxer is currently looking at his recent controversies. According to Garcia, he will soon return to the ring in a boxing bout with legendary Manny Pacquiao.

Interestingly, the American boxer is currently facing a challenging period in his career due to a one-year suspension. Despite this setback, there is speculation that Garcia might participate in an exhibition match in Japan this December. During one of his recent expeditions, Garcia went on a child predator hunt with the famous streamer Vitaly Zdorovetskiy.

I was doing a fight deal with Manny Pacquiao... It’s an exhibition... I am fighting Manny Pacquiao guys, let’s get it. It’s coming soon, I’m trying to work on [a date]. It will be at end of the year for sure...

Garcia remains actively engaged in the boxing community despite his commitment to attending rehab. Recently, ’KingRy’ was present at the Rizin 3 event, where he confronted Pacquiao. Garcia also watched Pacquiao’s exhibition match and subsequently challenged Pacquiao’s opponent as well. Interestingly, Garcia has previously been in talks for a fight with the 45-year-old, nearly finalizing a bout back in 2021.

Three years later, it seems that Ryan Garcia vs. Manny Pacquiao might happen. According to Garcia, the bout will likely be an exhibition contest in late 2024. While announcing the bout, Garcia also highlighted that he needs to take control of himself and stop his drinking habit. Meanwhile, the boxing legend once expressed his wish to fight the American boxer.

Manny Pacquiao once wanted to fight Ryan Garcia

Manny Pacquiao retired from professional boxing in 2021. Interestingly, following his retirement, Pacquiao ran for president in his home country of the Philippines. However, he was not elected, hence his desire to fight again. After losing to Yordenis Ugas, the eight-division champion retired. However, since then, he has participated in exhibition matches, following the path of many other aging athletes.

Interestingly, Pacquiao has been connected to potential fights with Garcia on and off for the last four years. Meanwhile, Sean Gibbons, the president of Pacquiao’s promotional company, believes that Pacquiao will soon seek to fight big names. Gibbons, who also serves as an agent and advisor for Pacquiao, is equally open to the idea of Pacquiao making a return to professional fighting.

Technically he's out of retirement. He (Manny Pacquiao) would love to fight Gervonta Davis, Ryan Garcia. He's got about a year left. He just wants to fight...

However, should the bout between Ryan Garcia and Manny Pacquiao materialize, it would mark PacMan’s third fight since he retired in August 2021. In the subsequent year, he emerged victorious against Korean martial artist DK Yoo in a six-round bout. On the other hand, Garcia has not previously participated in an exhibition and is coming off a no-decision result in his fight against Devin Haney in April.
